First time awarding Challenge Certificates in this historical, strongly built well coated breed. My thanks to Paignton & District Fanciers Society for the judging invitation and to the exhibitors for their support. I was pleased with the overall quality of the entry and especially my winners.

Class 1050 PD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2872 MANLEY Mrs J Skimarque Talvi Susi a well grown young male having desirable bone and body with an abundance of coat. Pleasing in overall appearance, being shapely, balanced and in proportion. Very attractive head which is masculine, strong and has width but all in proportion. Confident and friendly expression.  True well-constructed front, well grown body, short firm loin. Stands firm on good legs and feet. Moved well although tended to high step occasionally in front. A very promising puppy; Best Puppy in Breed.

Class 1051 JD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2883 THOMAS Mr & Mrs B Elbereth Tuulenpoika a shapely young male who has an attractive head of pleasing proportions, width, length and depth of muzzle. Dark well shaped eyes which enhances his expression. Strong, moderately long neck set on to well laid shoulders. Balanced in angulations front and rear. Well boned true front which I preferred to 2nd. Pleasing overall length of body with pleasing spring and depth of chest. Moderate angles, stable hindquarters. Moved well with breed typical tail carriage.

2nd: 2874 MITCHISON Mr & Mrs A Kaijartuu Velho a profusely coated sizeable male who is well boned and sturdy in body. Masculine and strong in head with well set, good sized and well shaped ears. He has pleasing bone in front but tended to splay when standing. Although he has all the make and shape, he needed to tighten up all through to show himself to advantage. Similarly, on the move he moved true enough but lacked enthusiasm.

1st: 2882 SISLEY-SMITH Miss S Tabanyaruu Qtamo Onni a shapely well-proportioned male who although not in full coat has enough covering to complement his excellent overall construction. He has a handsome breed typical head which is so attractive in shape, proportions and expression. Stands “four-square” presenting an eye-catching profile picture. Well boned true front and strong in body with good angles front and rear. An exciting prospect who still has scope to further improve. Moved well with a true, free and easy action.

1st: 2880 SAMUEL, Mr & Mrs N & C & SAMUEL Miss S Bridus Ukkonen a profusely coated sizeable mature looking male who has a strong masculine head. He is well boned and has substance of body with a broad well covered loin. True front with balanced moderate angles front and rear. Presents an upstanding sturdy appearance. Move well enough in front but tended to be close hocked behind.

Class 1054 OD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2881 SHORT Mr S W G & Mrs E R Ch Glenchess Gregory an impressive mature male who has a handsome head of ideal proportions, dark correct shaped eyes giving an attractive expression. Notable width and proportions to skull with pleasing set and shape of ears which together presents a breed typical head. Strong medium length to neck correctly set on good shoulders. True well boned front, correct pasterns and pleasing layback of shoulders. Mature depth and width to chest with ideal spring. Strong and firm in body and top-line leading to strong, moderately angled, ideal width hindquarters. Moved with a free and easy gait with true front and tidy rear action; moved best of the class. My Dog CC winner. Very close decision for the bitch for BOB; she just edged it on movement and caught my eye at just the right time. A satisfying final pair representing the breed.

2nd: 2878 ROBINSON Messrs T & O & Mrs D Oberitz Rumpali a very breed typical red male of pleasing size and proportions. Attractive head both in shape, proportions, eyes and expression. High set ears of satisfying size and shape. Strong good length neck set on well laid shoulders. Well made, strong body having desirable spring and depth of chest with firm top-line and short, strong loin. Presents an impressive picture when standing but was not as precise and settled on the move as 1st. My Reserve dog CC winner. Moves with drive and good length of stride.

1st: 2868 GREENLAND Mrs B Skimarque Kesatuuli Of Rajarani a well grown, well coated young bitch who although well boned and bodied is going through the shapeless stage of development. She has a very attractive head, pleasing dark eyes and gentle expression which edged her over 2nd. A very promising puppy having all the foundation basics to grow on. Moved well enough and better than 2nd.

2nd: 2867 FORSEY Mr E & Mrs T Pikkuihme Kuukivi At Muzoku NAF TAF a very raw 6-month-old who has a lovely head and typical expression. She has pleasing bone and body development for her age. Unsettled but when calm and stood she presented a very promising picture. Needs to settle, have more schooling to give of her best. Moved but in typical unsettled puppy style.

Class 1058 JB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2871 LEE Mr A & Mrs K N Kaijartuu Hopea Noita a super quality bitch of impressive shape and conformation. Very breed typical possessing all the desirable breed characteristics. Excellent balance and proportions length to height.

Beautiful head which is balanced and totally in proportion to the rest of her. True well-constructed front and forequarters, tight elbows, spring and depth of chest and being ribbed well back. Short strong loin giving a firm level top-line and slightly sloping short croup. Imposing and workmanlike in appearance when standing free and when moving soundly away and back. My Bitch CC winner and Best of Breed.

2nd: 2876 MOWATT, Ms L & BRADSHAW Mrs J & Mr R Tabanyaruu Qtamo Ihme a good sized , shapely well-proportioned mature looking bitch who has a very attractive head which is breed typical in make, shape, appearance and expression. She is well boned with a firm covering of substance although would prefer more depth of chest. Just enough coat covering which complemented her overall shape and proportions. She presented herself to advantage when standing steady and moved ok although a little close and unsettled behind.

Class 1061 OB (6 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2875 MOORE Mrs S & Mr R Ch Morval Salainen Haave JW a super, well coated bitch of excellent overall size and shape; Coat looks to be on the blow. Pleasing breed qualities and being totally balanced in angulation front and rear and in proportion length to height. Well boned and well bodied with nothing in exaggeration presenting a strong fit appearance. Sound in front and forequarters with tight elbows, spring and depth of chest; everything going together well. Feminine but strong head with pleasing eyes and expression; sizeable ears of good shape. Moved well and the better of this class. Mt Reserve Bitch CC winner.

2nd: 2862 ALLISON Mrs N J Oberitz Trolleri a well-made bitch who has a lovely overall shape both standing and moving in side gait. Not in the best of coats but still presents a profile of good proportions and balance. She has pleasing bone and body with desirable spring and depth of chest. Strong, good width hindquarters of moderate angulation. Moved well enough up and back with very good side gait.
