BP LAOIREBAY STEEL BLUE OCEAN (MR & MRS S M MARTIN)

BJ LAOIREBAY MONTE CARLO (MR M I & MRS W E TAYLOR)

Overall - not the biggest entry I have judged but still a typical number for the shows this year. I think the breed is in good hands and all the exhibitors can be proud of their dogs. I thought presentation was excellent and all the dogs were in clean condition. There were a couple of animals that did not show well today and they may have been affected by the heat. You can only assess the dogs on the day and this reflected in placings. There were a couple that may not have placed as highly as they could have done and it would be good to see them again. I thought there was quality in both sexes but the depth of competition today was in the dogs and I could have easily found 4 or 5 worthy of a CC. In bitches, the breed has been dominated by a top winner (I have previously awarded a CC to) but there are many other bitches coming along and I think there will be good competition in the future. Can I thank the exhibitors for their support. This breed is very dear to me and its one of my favourites to judge as both the dogs and the exhibitors generally have excellent temperaments and are fun to be around :-)

1st LAOIREBAY STEEL BLUE OCEAN (MR & MRS S M MARTIN)

2nd TERNE DES CORIS QALIMERO AT COOLFIN (IMP BEL) NAF TAF (MRS M & MISS P KNOX & JAKINS)

3rd LAOIREBAY MONTE CARLO (MR M I & MRS W E TAYLOR)

1st - 8mo , nice sized dog who showed well. Particularly scores in rear end which he used will to move around the ring on good legs and feet.

2nd - 7mo very promising youngster with a lovely head and expression. Not a big one but a good one and although he didn't show well today - has lots to like and should finish well. One for the future.

Junior Dog - Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st LAOIREBAY MONTE CARLO (MR M I & MRS W E TAYLOR)

1st - Ths youngster was placed 3rd in the puppy class and there is lots to like about him. He is just going through a growth phase so was very unbalanced. He has good colour. Sympathetically handled and I would like to see him again.

Post Graduate Dog - Entries: 4 Absentees: 0

1st ALANEA GAME RESERVE WITH DANWISH (MISS T GARDNER)

2nd ROANJORA TEROLDEGO (MR & MRS D S WADE)

3rd CORRANROO CLOONEY OF ANNAGH (MRS B STEVENS)

1st - 2yo of correct make and shape. Lovely balanced dog that moved well. Good feet. Although he still has some finishing to do I felt him very worthy of the RCC in a strong entry of males. I think this dog will carry his title in due course.

2nd - 2 1/2yo of excellent type. Lovely head, correct colour and nicely balanced. He did not move as well as his make suggests he could but I know he was with a new handler, who did a good job on the day. I can also see this boy wearing his crown.

Limit Dog - Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1st CORRANROO COMMITMENT TO SIORRUDH JW (MR C & MRS J BALL & HARRISON)

1st - 2 1/2 yo and another contender for high honours today . Lovely balanced boy and another who moved out nicely. Overall a pleasing dog to judge and I am sure he will have even better days as he matures into a very nice boy.

Open Dog - Entries: 5 Absentees: 1

1st SH CH KILLARY'S GRAND VENTURE WITH VANDERS AND ROMAUNT (IMP USA) JW (MRS R E A, MR J A & MRS J BARNEY, BARNEY & HOWATSON)

2nd SH CH RUSTASHA GOLDEN RAPPER JW (MR B J & MRS S A BARRY)

3rd ANISBRIG TOBERMORY (MR B & MRS S PILMER)

A good class with all four dogs present being nice examples of the breed.

1st - 4yo male whom I have previously awarded a RCC and who has grown into a very pleasing dog. Lovely head with a kind expression. Proper outline with good angles fore and aft, correct colour and he moved out with purpose. CC and BoB.

2nd - Another 4yo of good type and I liked him very much. Correct coat and colour and nicely made all through. A very worthy champion but today did not move as positively as the winner.

Veteran Dog - Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1st SH CH RUSTASHA RHAPSODY IN RED SHCM (MR B J & MRS S A BARRY)

2nd SH CH/IR SH CH VANDERS VA VOOM AVEC WROXHAM (MRS E E WALKER)

1st and 2nd - Two wonderful examples of this breed and both wearing their crowns, (which didn’t surprise me).

Both dogs have correct type and are nicely made all through. The have nice balance and the winner just moved out better on the day. They are a credit to the breed and their owners.

Puppy Bitch - Entries: 6 Absentees: 1

1st IANBRO MYSTIC QUARTZ SHINES AT GILLIEGRAE (MR G J & MRS G A HART)

2nd LAOIREBAY PENNY LANE (MR & MRS A CALLAGHAN)

3rd LAOIREBAY SHE'S LEAVING HOME TO SOIRRUDH (MR C & MRS J BALL & HARRISON)

1st and 2nd – Two promising youngsters headed this class, although all entrants had merit. Both have all the essentials. Nice angles front and rear, feminine heads, correct colour. The winner was more positive in movement and this took her to first place. They should both grow on to be very lovely ladies.

Junior Bitch - Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st IANBRO KAMINO SAPPHIRE TO FORGEWAY (MR T D & MRS N HARGREAVES)

1st – this was one of the lovely puppies in the previous class and as with the Junior Dog winner, is just going through a growth phase and is unbalanced. She should finish nicely and another one I would like to see when grown up.

Post Graduate Bitch - Entries: 3 Absentees: 1

1st OLDESTONE CHARLIE'S ANGEL (MR & MRS D S WADE)

2nd ALANEA HOLLY FERN AT CHARNBOROUGH (MRS M E SHERRATT)

This was a close class as I like both bitches very much and this was another case of “dogs on the day”.

1st – Correctly made bitch showing good balance. Pleasing in head. Good topline which she held on the move. She moved out better than the second placed bitch and this gave her the class.

2nd – Another correctly made bitch with good angles fore and aft. Pretty head and good expression. Good legs and feet but would not co-operate with her handler in moving. I think she has the quality to carry her title.

Limit Bitch - Entries: 5 Absentees: 0

1st ZENDARRIC IT'S A KIND OF MAGIC WITHIN WROXHAM JW (MRS E E WALKER)

2nd CORRANROO CONSORT (MR G & MRS J J BAYNE)

3rd LOVENJOEL SLEEPING BEAUTY (MRS J TAIT)

This was another class where 1st and 2nd were close up (hence the final awards)

1st – Very nice young bitch who is developing on nice lines. Still a little finishing to do and this will only add to her appeal. Correctly made with nice front and rear angulation. Lovely topline which she held on the move as she went around on good legs and feet. I expect she will carry her crown and she will wear it well. I look forward to reading about how she goes on. CC (her first but I suspect not her last).

2nd – Another future Sh.Ch. in my opinion, Lovely balance, correct coat and colour and another strong mover on good feet. Hair-splitting between 1 and 2. RCC.

Open Bitch - Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st SH CH RUSTASHA ROSA KIM (MR B J & MRS S A BARRY)

1st – Another one I have judged before and have placed highly. At 7 years old she still has it and can show the youngsters how to move. It’s no surprise she carries her title. Correctly made all through and in great condition. Was certainly in the mix today for top honours.
