Championship Show

SMOOTH HAIRED

Judging at a breed club show is always special. My thanks to the officers & committee for the welcome accorded me & to my stewards who kept everything running smoothly. I was pleased with the overall quality of the entry. Some forequarters could have been slightly better angulated, the main problem being the upper arm. Temperament overall was super with just one exhibit slightly unsure of herself on the table. My congratulations to the breeders for working hard to improve this very important aspect.

Beginners (2) 1 Chapman-Reith’s Wanderhund Lets Celebrate for Hayvenhund, very neat typy 6 months b/t bitch, very smooth outline, good forehand, hind movement slightly close. Good ribbing, correct hind angulation, head of good length, very nice type and quality, moved OK; 2 Williams & Jackson’s Amlida Mythos at Wherrypoint, 7 months b/t dog of quite a scopy type, very good shoulder & keel, not quite as strong in hindquarters as 1 & topline slightly soft at this stage. Stepped out well with good head carriage. MPD (3, 1a) 1 Chauhan’s Raajput’s All About Humanity, masculine, free moving 6 months b/t, good keel, well muscled body, upper arm could be a shade longer, good ribbing & turn of stifle, moved a tad close behind but stepped out with a good stride, lovely outgoing temperament. BPD; 2 A Mythos at W. PD (3) 1 Jones’ Adnerbs Rockabilly Rebel, 11 months red, best stride in the class, quite a live wire. Shoulders OK, good ribbing, carried tail a tad proudly, good turn of stifle, head OK; 2 Chauhan’s Raajput’s Any Victory Will Do, b/t brother to winner of MP. In some ways he made the best impression on me in this class but was not so together as 1 on the move, tended to pad slightly. Very good chest & keel, good turn of stifle, coat could perhaps be a shade finer. Tail slightly too inclined on the move; 3 Lucas’ Tramardachs Milkcart Driva. JD (2) 1 Hunt’s Lauralee Huckleberry Finn at Carpaccio, very masculine houndy red, super keel and shoulders, deep chest, long neck, well bent stifle, good underline. Could move with a shade more width out & back at this stage. Carried head well on the move. Just pipped to the RCC by his litter brother; 2 Williams & Moes’ Cwmdarhian Tom Hardy, very well made red, good topline, stepped out OK. Preferred head of 1. Good turn of stifle, many pleasing qualities. PGD (0). LD (5) 1 Paget & Carroll’s Lauralee Oscar Wild at Marvale, very classic type b/t, excellent neck & shoulder without being overdone, attractive head, well bent stifle. Overall lovely type & balance, moved with good stride. RCC behind his sire; 2 Chauhan’s Wanderhund Viva Las Vegas, b/t, masculine expression, good keel, upper arm a tad short, well bent stifle, stepped out well, perhaps a shade long in loin; 3 Borrelli’s Carpaccio Trouble In Store. OD (6) 1 Armstrong’s Ch Lauralee Nicholas Nickleby, b/t of excellent type with very good ground clearance, attractive head with masculine & houndy expression, super keel and angles, deep chest. Stepped out well with good stride & defiant head carriage. Appealed greatly for overall type, quality & balance. CC, BOB & went on to BIS under Roy Wood; 2 Williams & Moes’ Cwmdarhian San Andreas, very neat & low to ground red, not quite the length of shoulder blade of 1. Excellent topline, very good bend of stifle, nice body proportions, stepped out well; 3 Seago & Gibbard’s Amlida Spirit. VD (1) 1 Starkey’s Carpaccio Jasper from Hamoura, 7 years b/t, super size, slightly round in eye, OK shoulders, stepped out well. Hindquarters a shade light on. Overall a very nice type. BVD.

MPB (6) 1 Hunt’s Carpaccio Faberge, classic type 8 months b/t, super head, neck, keel & front, good substance for size, typical topline, could have used her tail a tad more on the move, very promising. BP; 2 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Urbane, nearly 7 months shaded red, good long head, very nice front & good shoulders. Not the substance of 1 at this stage but stepped out well from good bend of stifle; 3 W Lets Celebrate for H. PB (0). JB (1) 1 Haggerty’s Smooth Performance, very neat red, shoulder OK, quite fine in head, moved soundly but could have gone with a shade more drive, glossy coat, would prefer a bit more bone & scope. PGB (4) 1 Hinwood’s Longmel Special Truffle, very nice type red, pleasing feminine head, nice outline, carried herself well on the move, correct bend of stifle. Shoulder blade could be slightly longer but the best type & carriage in the class; 2 Heels’ Rijobeau Ravishing Rita, nice type red though a shade heavier than 1, scored over 3 & 4 on her length of stride. Deep chest, underline slightly untidy, good houndy head; 3 Lucas’ Viewmoor Happy Days. LB (5) 1 Norton’s Matzell Myrtle, houndy workmanlike red, moved soundly & covered the ground well, very well muscled, nice head, topline fell away very slightly, but overall a very nice type, litter sister to BCC winner; 2 Mitchell’s Cedavoch Solar Storm at Bronia, another bitch of very good type, nice head & balance, shoulder blade could be a tad longer & moved a shade close behind but overall very nice, nice profile movement; 3 Lucas’ Cwmdarhian Red To Tango. OB (5) 1 Norton’s Matzell Martha, very classic type red, pretty feminine head, long shoulder blade, moved true coming & going with nice head carriage, beautifully balanced, super underline, stepped out well with good stride. CC, her third; 2 McNaughton’s Ch Cedavoch Rainstorm, very nice type red, another excellent mover, stepped out well, houndy & feminine, nice head, well bent stifle, full of quality. RCC; 3 Williams & Moes’ Ir Ch Cwmdarhian Look Whos Talkin. VB (3, 1) 1 Norton’s Ch Matzell Maid In Time, classic type 7 years red, so much to admire, textbook shoulder, lovely topline, deep ribs, stood four square, parallel hocks. Dam of BCC winner & LB winner. BV & BVIS; 2 Hinwood’s Hampdach Amathyst Undeg, nearly 8 years red, very nice type, feminine & showy, long head, well bent stifle, upper arm could slightly better angled otherwise very appealing; 3 Turner’s Marictur Moulin Rouge.
