Breed: Basset Fauve De Bretagne

I was so sorry for exhibitors coping with this poor ring surface, it definitely distracted some of the hounds, having to fight their way through long grass and weeds. Every hound had good dentition, was in great condition and happy to show.

1st: 2809 REVENS, Miss A & HYDE Mr P Napo Do Cal Da Paderna At Beabass (Imp)

Deep red excellently pigmented youngster with jet black eyes and nose. Ears could be longer. Strong arched neck into shoulders well laid back. Would hope he strengthens in front with time, turn out of fore feet affects action coming towards. Harsh short coat, high tail set, hindquarters produced rhythmic and accurate hind action, keeps top line on the move and his outline in profile is very balanced and attractive. Would prefer more capacity to rib cage and less length of loin, the former may develop with age.

1st: BOB BENDLE, Mrs J L & BLEVINS Mr & Mrs R Ch Blevwil Nick Nack Sh.CM

Compact young hound who scored on his hind and profile movement despite the conditions, balanced, forward- going and not missing a step. Darkly pigmented, ears could be a touch longer. Very good forechest, arched neck of the right moderate length, eye catching hound in all the right ways with consistently level top line and defined musculation of thigh and second thigh with low set hocks producing strong driving action. He was in such great condition, really fit.

1st This young hound excels in type. Heavy bone, substance and ribbing right back, great body, a glorious head and a dense and durable double coat to set it all off. Lower and longer compared to class winner, he rushed over this bad ground and lost out to winner’s steady movement and consistently held outline. res best dog.

Class 1091 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 2803 ALLENBY Mrs H & Mr R Rangali Wispa

BP, BOS, Extremely taken by this marmalade coloured, amber eyed baby, 6 months old and showing like a veteran. Beautiful well furnished head framed with well set ears, as strong and steady action coming towards as its possible to see, heavily boned, substantial, shapely rear producing great drive, lovely tail carriage. Understandably not yet the muscle in rear of the BOB.

2nd: 2810 REVENS, Miss A & HYDE Mr P Naya Do Cal Da Paderna At Beabass (Imp)

Like her brother, was not liking this ground and who could blame her. Harsh coated “ dry” sort of bitch, hard condition, lovely neck and layback of shoulder. Width across front and has deep capacious chest already. Shapely rear, correct high tail set. Front action erratic, profile and rear excellent. Holds her strong, level top line at all times. Needs to bring her ears forward, has a tendency to “ rose” them.

Class 1094 OB (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 2804 ALLENBY Mrs H & Mr R Ch Hirondelle Rangali (Imp) JW Her son and daughter shown earlier have taken much from this bitch, she has strong attributes in head, bone and substance, again a very good double coat, a rock solid top line. Her daughter out moved her on the day. res BB

2nd: 2806 BENDLE Mrs J L & Mr K Ir Ch Blevwil Galipette another who didn’t look at all keen to traverse this ring. Her head is glorious, beautifully balanced with expressive eyes and well framed by her ears. Harsh jacket showed off her compact outline, slightly plump condition. Would like more length to thigh and second thigh, went close behind and wide in front. Strong arched neck and level top line, very attractive profile appearance.
