Breed: Best In Show & Best Veteran In Show

Scottish Kennel Club 25 & 26 August 2018 Best In Show and Best Veteran In Show.

This was a super line up for Best In Show and my thanks go to the breed and group judges. I was spoilt for choice and it was very much the performance on the day. After my individual examination I had a short list of three in my mind and my eventual BEST IN SHOW proved to be CH SOLETRADER MAGIC MIKE Breed: Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) (MRS S & MRS W ROBERTSON & DOHERTY)

I have previously written the virtues of this dog, he was my reserve best in show at Richmond last year. Time has served this young man well. He is now the finished article so sure of himself and eager to please. Very good to go over throughout, good head and expression. Clean over the neck and shoulder, good legs and feet. Strong solid body, super hindquarters. Coat presented in tip top order. On the move he simply stole the show sound and accurate out and back with a ground covering side gait. All in all a top quality dog who richly deserves his many accolades.

RESERVE BEST IN SHOWCH BUFFREY INCOGNITO BY DALLEAF JW Breed: Dalmatian (MRS S A & MISS S NEATH-DUGGAN & BAKER)

A new one to me but again very nice to go over, well balanced head, correct dentition. Super firm well ribbed body. True front assembly with good legs and quality bone. Correct outline standing and on the move. When he free stands his legs naturally fall to into position. On his final movement his super outline and free movement lifted him into the reserve spot.

SH CH ARROWMOY FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK FARNFIELD (IKC) Breed: Retriever (Labrador) (MR R A S STAFFORD JP)

This quality bitch can not be overlooked, again very good to go over and gave a good account of herself on the move. She is very well balanced and give a good picture. She pushed the winners hard.

AM CH HAMPTON COURTS MONTE CRISTO [ATC AT02396BRA] Breed: Fox Terrier (Wire) (MR V MALZONI)

Dog

This quality wire is no stranger to me having previously won a group under me and I endorse my previous comments but today he did not shine in the line up. As ever he was well presented and handled to get the best from him.

CH SUNVALLEY HEART ON FIRE AT JEDDHI Breed: Boxer (D & S MCCARTHY & GETHING)

This boxer bitch is full of breed type, quality head, amply bone, well ribbed body, correct outline. On the move she strode out with purpose and style and looked so typical in profile. She was not disgraced in this line up as her super clean outline draws your eye.

CH CALDERMIST KISS IN THE DARK JW SHCM Breed: Bearded Collie (MRS A PEDDER)

This boy is well balanced throughout, he was presented in super coat and condition. Good topline and tailset, carried a decent body and was true on the move out and back. Again part of a quality line up.

COFTON WINTER TIME TALE AT HEADRA JW Breed: King Charles Spaniel (MRS I M & MRS M E ASKINS & KENDALL)

This bitch is so typical of the breed, lovey head and eye. Very well off for body with well sprung ribs. She displayed a super temperament so happy and content with the surrounding. She was typical on the move out and back.

Best Veteran

Another lovely line up awaited me for Best Veteran and again I was spoilt for choice.

My Best Veteran in Show was CH TIMAZINTI LIBERTY Breed: Lhasa Apso (MRS J & MS S SCARLL & SYKES)

This quality girl belies her age looking every inch the Champion she is. She was presented is super coat and condition. Quality head, correct topline and tail set. She moved out with purpose and style and looked a picture in profile. Every time I looked at her she screamed Lhasa and this carried her through to the top spot.

Reserve Best Veteran In Show CH STEPHETER WANNA SHOUT FOR RAKUCHIN Breed: Japanese Chin (MS T & MS S PEARCE & HANN)

This quality Chin is very eye catching and on close examination she is a good representative of the breed. Well off for body, coat of good texture, correct tailset and carriage. Correct bone for size, she too gave a good account of herself on the move to take the reserve spot.

SH CH/IR SH CH MOOLOU MINSTREL AT HOOKWOOD JW SHCM Breed: Pointer (MRS S WELCH)

This male pointer is masculine without being coarse, correct make and shape, good legs and feet. Moved out well displaying very good profile movement.

CH TANGAER RHAPSODY AT CALLYDENA SHCM Breed: Basset Griffon Vendeen (Petit) (MR S A & MRS L M WYLLIE)

This lady carries her age well, super temperament, coat of good texture. Her head is very appealing, good bone for size. Another quality veteran.

CH/INT/MULTI CH HOPECHARM PRINCE HARRY (RE IMP) Breed: West Highland White Terrier (MRS S A FRYER)

This boy was in no way disgraced in this company, so appealing for make and shape. A super coat of good texture that was presented to perfection. He too gave a good account of himself.

CH TRONJHEIM BELLADONNA FROM JOJAVIK JW SHCM Breed: Dobermann (MRS J A & MISS V L INGRAM)

A quality bitch that can not be overlooked. Clean lines throughout, appealing head, good pigment. Well boned legs and feet. Smart on the move.

A well balanced lady who had good carriage on the move with a free and easy stride. Again very nice to go over.
