It was a pleasure to judge this lovely breed at this level for the first time. I appreciated the quality entry; all the dogs were shown in clean, well-muscled condition and temperament was par excellence. What a sporting crowd the Weimaraner exhibitors are! Every class was well and spontaneously applauded and there prevailed a lovely atmosphere around the ringside.

1st: Snaith’s Skilaki Move On Up To Bifonda, 8 months puppy of pleasing type, liked his head, neck and shoulders, good rib and balanced, moved well in front, could have a bit more width behind;

Class 2158 PD (5 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 7512 Brierley’s Grausturm Hairy Potter (Imp), Longhair who I thought had the best outline and balance, good head, pleased in body lines, well made hindquarters which he used to drive well behind and cover ground, bit erratic in front, needs to tighten;

2nd: 7580 S Move On UP To Bifonda

3rd: 7539 Issitt’s Kuantan Quattro With Forgun

Class 2159 JD (6 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 7509 BEAGRIE Mrs A & Mr A Gunalt Audio, very nice quality dog of medium size, well balanced with pleasing head and eye, neck and shoulders and corresponding good hindquarters, very good body and rib and shown in excellent condition, moved soundly but has a slight tendency to pace at times;

2nd: 7563 PHILLIPS Mr L Rivertone Rudolph, masculine dog out of a bigger mould therefore will need a little more time to come together, pleasing angulation fore and aft which manifested itself on the move where he was sound in all directions;

3rd: 7553 MUTLOW Mrs C Braefell Goshawk

Class 2160 YD (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 7524 EVANS, Mr J & PAVEY Mr P M Gunalt Undeniable At Joneva, top class dog whose conformation is exemplary, has a look of the aristocrat and possesses ring presence with his masculine, yet refined head, super front construction, well boned legs, correct length of body, good depth of rib, most excellent hindquarters, overall every part fits together harmoniously and it is on the move where he excels, totally sound fore and aft with real drive from powerful hindquarters, in profile his reach and drive is effortless resulting in him eating up the ground and, in a very close decision, this is where I felt that he scored, worthy CC winner which, I was told, made him up, I am sure that he will continue to make his presence felt as he matures, an exciting dog;

3rd: 7528 FOWLER Mrs J A Kuantan Goosebump At Galgo

Class 2163 PGD (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 7530 HARTLEY Mrs G Astrazone Kingfisher, thought he scored in outline and balance, good body and rib, well developed hindquarters, free moving in profile, a little loose in elbow and would prefer a slightly better head;

2nd: 7597 WHITWHAM Mrs J & Mr P Schonhund Showvanistic For Izzbiz JW, this dog was shown in lovely condition and was gleaming, super temperament and enjoying his day, just fails in front construction and lacks forechest;

Class 2164 LD (11 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 7515 BUSSELL Mrs M Teufel Devils Advocate, medium sized dog who I thought scored on the move, good moving back and front and carries his outline in profile, pleasing head, good bone, body and hindquarters, never gave up;

2nd: 7556 O 'DONOGHUE Mr & Mrs W & S Sireva Linesman At Weimsmyre, extrovert dog with very good legs and feet, excellent body and hindquarters, a good sort all through but just preferred front construction of 1;

3rd: 7585 STOKES Mrs P Khamsynn Coast To Coast At Wipfel

Class 2165 OD (6 Entries) Abs: 2 Four very worthy title holders present, it gave me food for thought

1st: 7521 CROWTHER Mr D J Sh Ch Hundwith Mclaren, quality, refined, classy yet masculine dog where everything fits together as one piece, very pleasing head, clean neck and shoulders, good legs and feet, correct overall balance with good depth of body, rib and topline, very well angulated hindquarters, looked a picture standing, totally sound and true on the move, shown in hard, fit condition, pushed the youngster hard, but had to settle for the RCC in a close decision, pleased to see that it was his daughter who was BOB;

2nd: 7518 CLARKE Mr R A Sh Ch Sireva Crackerjack At Coastedge JW Sh.CM, so much to like about this dog and so very similar in type to 1, a most worthy title holder with pleasing head, well boned, good colour, well angulated hindquarters, has strength through the body and moved true;

3rd: 7567 RAYNER, Mrs C & MASKELL Mrs S Sh Ch Gunalt Academy of Raystans JW Sh.CM

Class 2166 VD (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 7596 WEBSTER, Miss R & RADFORD Mr & Mrs P Sh Ch Schonhund Showvanist Over Errytar JW Sh.CM, this dog looked wonderful for his 10 years and is certainly a credit to his owner and the long-lasting qualities of the breed, lovely outline standing and on the move, excellent body and strong hindquarters, sound moving in all directions;

2nd: 7542 MACLAINE, Miss J P & DICKSON Mr R Sh Ch Ir Ch Greyspirit Royal Scot At Trilite Sh.CM, another one shown in lovely condition and enjoyed his day out;

1st: 7580 SMITH, Mrs M & SCOURFIELD Mr A Gunalt Lustrous, I was extremely taken by this beautiful, quality puppy who radiates class, well made all though with feminine head, very good forequarters and matching excellent hindquarters, well bodied and totally sound, covered the ground in profile, a real baby but in my heart I would have liked to have given her BP but she didn’t get her act together;

2nd: 7574 RUDDY Miss C Netherhill Euro Million, pleasing type baby who had very good bone and hindquarters, pleasing head and covered the ground;

3rd: 7589 THRASIVOULOU, Dr C & Mrs J & THRASIVOULOU Miss Z Skilaki Born To Move

Class 2168 PB (6 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 7548 MATTHEWS Miss J R Silvermews Shiomi, very nice puppy of good make and shape, pleasing head, well made front, good neck leading to well placed shoulders, strong through the body leading to well made hindquarters, sound moving in all directions and did her job right to the end, BP;

2nd: 7543 MACLAINE, Miss J P & DICKSON Mr R Greyspirit Hopes N Dreams, pleasing type and well reared, good legs and feet, not quite the topline or the expression of 1;

3rd: 7589 THRASIVOULOU, Dr C & Mrs J & THRASIVOULOU Miss Z Skilaki Born To Move

Class 2169 JB (13 Entries) Abs: 0 This was a super class; even so, the first two stood out to me from the beginning and stayed in my mind throughout the rest of the classes.

1st: 7579 SIMPSON, Mrs G F & DAWSON, Mrs G & CLARKE Mr R A Sireva Senna With Coastedge, I just loved everything about her and totally went overboard, what a beautiful, quality bitch so full of type and with such lovely balance, so well made all through from her lovely head, good neck and shoulders, good body, chest and rib, excellent outline and super hindquarters, sound and true fore and aft and covered the ground effortlessly in profile, her outline was super standing and she maintained it on the move, so similar to the OB winner (who, I see, is her dam), it was a pleasure to award her her first CC along with BOB and I wish her well in the future;

2nd: 7536 CROFT Mr T Gunalt Shugarush, loved this one too and I see that she is litter sister to the DCC winner, top class bitch who combines femininity with strength and everything fits together so well, lovely head, very well made front with correct layback of shoulder and upper arm, correct length of back, well-ribbed back with strength through the loin, super hindquarters, such a lovely outline standing and on the move she is not just true fore and aft but in profile she opens up effortlessly to cover the ground so easily, pushed so hard and it was an extremely close decision, RCC;

3rd: 7576 SAYER, Mr M & WALLWORK Miss D Braefell Firecrest

1st: 7531 HAZELTINE, Miss C & CROWTHER, Mr D & ALCORN Mr D Hundwith Chortle With Hookwood, quality bitch who combines strength with quality, lovely outline standing and good to go over with well made front, good bone, feet and body, correct balance and excellent hind angulation, so true in front and covers the ground in profile;

2nd: 7576 SAYER, Mr M & WALLWORK Miss D Braefell Firecrest, third in the lovely JB class, pleasing bitch with pleasing head, good balance and length of body which is well ribbed back, sound moving, her wins today gained her JW

3rd: 7550 MCDOWALL, Mr & Mrs R & D & RUTLAND Mr & Mrs A Sireva Hot Line To Khamsynn JW

Class 2171 NB (7 Entries) Abs: 1

2nd: 7565 RADFORD Mr & Mrs P & D Schonhund Show Dolly, this youngster settled well here and had very good body and topline which she maintained on the move, good bone and strong hindquarters;

3rd: 7534 HILL Miss C Weipowa Winnie Winchester

1st: 7570 REILLY, Mrs K & Mr L J & RAYNER, Mrs C & MASKELL Smilek Eyes Of Silver JW, well made, strong but quality bitch, liked her head, good bone, body, rib and strong loin, balanced angulation fore and aft resulting in sound free movement;

2nd: 7590 THRASIVOULOU, Dr C & Mrs J & THRASIVOULOU Miss Z Skilaki It's De Lovely JW, good type and of good colour, excelled in body and hindquarters and is the right balance, sound moving, just not quite the presence of 1;

3rd: 7537 HOLT Mrs M L Meinweg Christmas Fuddle

1st: 7572 RODGERS Mrs C Minstergate Cunard JW, workmanlike, fit active bitch who has strength but is also feminine, shown in superb condition and muscletone, balanced angulation fore and aft, very good body and true fore and aft on the move, was pushed hard by 2;

2nd: 7557 PEARCE, Mrs C A & GILBERT Mr D W Gunalt Can We, feminine quality bitch who also appealed a lot and pushed hard, pleasing head, very good front angulation with well laid shoulder and upperarm, balanced all through with excellent hind angulation, sound true mover;

3rd: 7599 YEWDALL Ms L Gunalt Adorable from Ladwey

Class 2175 OB (10 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 7578 SIMPSON, Mrs G & DAWSON Mrs G Ch Sireva Skype JW, lovely quality bitch and so many of the remarks for her daughter (CC/BOB winner) apply to her too, has strength and femininity and is so true to the Standard in detail, liked her head, excellent conformation in front and hindquarters, correct balance, good length of back with strong loin, good mover although not quite as settled with a change of handler in the challenge, a pleasure to judge her and a class act;

2nd: 7522 CROWTHER Mr D J Hundwith Giggle, very similar in many respects to 1 and of the same type, feminine quality bitch of the right balance and outline, well made all through and this manifests itself on the move, pushed hard;

3rd: 7508 BATTY Mr A Edingorse Ethereal at Almoor JW Sh.CM

Class 2176 VB (7 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 7566 RAYNER Mrs C Sh Ch Gunalt The Look at Raystans JW Sh.CM, thought she looked lovely, a beautiful bitch who still looks good and is a credit to her caring owners, lovely outline, clean and of the right balance, lovely neck and shoulders, topline and hindquarters, so sound moving and complemented the other bitches in the challenge, Best Veteran over the lovely dog;

2nd: 7591 THRASIVOULOU, Dr C & Mrs J & THRASIVOULOU Miss Z Ascarli Fancy Free At Skilaki, another shown in good condition and enjoying her day out, excelled in neck, shoulder, body and hindquarters and moved soundly and with freedom;

3rd: 7558 PEARCE, Mrs C A & GILBERT Mr D W Sh Ch Gunalt Can Dance JW
