1ST ALIBAMA BLACKMAIL Breed: Spaniel (American Cocker) (MR D JENNINGS)

What a cracker! Gorgeous head, well rounded skull, clear stop, correct proportions, full eye beautifully chiselled underneath. Compact and strong body, short coupled and powerful quarters. Easy mover and covers the ground well. Very well handled and presented. Best AVNSC Puppy.

2ND ORION DI CAMPOLEONE Breed: Lagotto Romagnolo (MISS J NELSON). Utterly delightful puppy who lost out to the winner on front movement. Sturdily built with good length to height ratio, ample spring of rib, long upper thigh. Very well handled.

1ST MIZANI SOLA FRESCO Breed: Lagotto Romagnolo (MR & MRS A FERGUSON). Another fine example of this breed. Such a happy boy who’s ever wagging tail was an indicator of his lively and affectionate nature. Has powerful quarters with a good bend of stifle. Coat coming along nicely.

2ND BORN TO RUN TO AFTERGLOW Breed: Spaniel (American Cocker) (MESDAMES K A & M L SMITH & MOON). A very good example of the breed with a typical head and good depth. Would have preferred a touch more strength in neck but this was nit picking. Moves with drive and purpose.

1ST RUMOLBOYS ALBAN EILIR Breed: Lagotto Romagnolo (MISS V & MR J WILLIAMS & CARLESS). Masculine head, moderately broad with slightly divergent planes. Ears set just above eye level, powerful neck fits cleanly into shoulders. Has plenty of bone and compact feet. Another very happy soul.

Open – Dog. An excellent class; first four are all worthy champions.

1ST AM CH/IR CH/SH CH SILHOUETTE TROUBLING NASAILLEEN WITH MYCALLEYS Breed: Spaniel (American Cocker) (MISS L, MRS L & MRS B BRYANT, NELSON & MORRIS). If anyone is ever in any doubt as to the working capability of this breed I urge them to get their hands on this dog. He is powerfully built and his depth and spring of rib are tremendous. His body is so sturdy with his legs set well under showing excellent forechest. His head is refined and he has such a glint in his eye. He is immaculately presented and handled to perfection but he is not just a pretty face nor all coat; watch him on the move, he is a true sporting spaniel. Best AVNSC DOG, Best AVNSC and Group 2.

2ND SH CH TAWNYKA ITS'A PUZZLE FOR BELCAM JW SHCM Breed: Spaniel (Sussex) (MRS E E BOWE). This is a great favourite of mine and a fabulous example of the breed. He is all male, a fabulous size and strongly built. He has a wonderful frown and his coat has the required gold tips. His movement is very sound and he has the Sussex roll. Res. Best AVNSC Dog.

Puppy – Bitch. Another outstanding class. All five of them are worthy winners and my decisions were very close.

1ST LEIBORSCHY YAIKA Breed: Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla (D & P PARRY & NEWMAN). This is not a glamorous breed but it is one I’ve owned and shown so I am always more critical of them when judging variety classes. The defining feature is a wire coat covering the whole body and this young bitch has exactly that. She has the requisite bone and substance, is moderate all through, has attractive facial furnishings and is of a good size. Covers the ground well on the move and carries her tail level with her back. Best AVNSC Bitch.

2ND NASAILLEEN SECRET LIAISON Breed: Spaniel (American Cocker) (MISS L, MRS L, MRS J & MR T BRYANT, NELSON, CAINE & LEE). Stunning puppy, so very well made and has ground covering movement. Her head is so very pretty and she has a very appealing expression. I loved the way she looked at me like I was a far lesser being then her.

1ST EWTOR BELLINI Breed: Spaniel (Field) (MRS A E MOSS). Litter sister to 3rd in puppy and both are very exciting prospects. First rate front angulation, deep chest, well sprung ribs and good bend of stifle. Her head has the haughty look that suggests noble breeding. She has great drive from behind and a leisurely stride. Res. Best AVNSC Bitch.

2ND NELBEKIO BE IT BAMBALINA Breed: Lagotto Romagnolo (MISS M BRANSBY). A very nice type and sympathetically handled. Carries a woolly coat with good curls. Muscular back with slight slope, moves on an easy stride.

3RD TWEEDSMUIR CHENOA AT WINDFLY Breed: Spaniel (Clumber) (MRS L GRANT)

1ST FOULBY SINGAPORE SLING Breed: Spaniel (Irish Water) (MRS J & MISS L WEBB & BINGHAM). Big ribs and excellent forehand with plenty of depth of brisket. Tight curl and very good top knot. Moved OK but was pulling off to the side.

2ND PENROSE HASH BROWN Breed: Retriever (Chesapeake Bay) (MISS C A PONT). What a wonderful thick, harsh and oily coat. Loved her typical topline, good spring of rib and short well muscled loin. I felt she could use a touch more bend of stifle but nevertheless I liked her very much indeed.

1ST FULLFORGE FLORAL DANCER Breed: Lagotto Romagnolo (MISS V & MR J WILLIAMS & CARLESS). Excellent proportions throughout, strong body, not too wide in front, rough curls with undercoat. Good mover.

2ND GAESTEN DESIRABLE DIVA AT NELBEKIO CW13 CJW13 RL2 Breed: Lagotto Romagnolo (MISS J NELSON). Wonderful temperament, smiling face, narrow front, perhaps a little too much length of neck. Sound mover.
