Class 1218 JD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

Two very smart youngsters to start the day with.

1st: 3980 GRIFFIN-WOODS Mrs C Migwell Soloman's Puzzle (ai)

I really liked this young sixteen month chap but his head was elsewhere and she just wouldn’t play ball today. He excels on the move, very accurate in footfall and a super side gate. His head is masculine, good definition with a pleasing eye shape and colour, developing nicely and should finish well. Strong through the neck leading in to a good front assembly, shoulders well placed and a good return of upper arm. Front good for his age with enough depth of chest. Body proportions correct, ribs springing nicely and firm loin. Good moderate quarters which he used to advantage on the move. Coat of good quality and texture. Delighted to award him Reserve Best Dog, one I think will have a bright future ahead of him.

2nd: 3983 SMITH Miss H L Oakmarsh Elkton

Another promising youngster with a lot of potential. I liked his head piece, well shaped but eyes need to darken which they should do with age. I liked his overall balance. Decent front on him, would have liked a little more lay back of shoulder. He has depth to chest and stands on well boned legs and feet. Quarters well made with good angles. In good coat and condition. Needs to find his pace on the move, not quite as fluid as Solomon’s Puzzle today but has a good action about him.

1st: 3978 CREWE Miss D Chesarab Saltmarsh (Imp)

Young dog who has done well under me before but he was just not happy today and wouldn’t play ball. Head masculine with good definition, good through the neck into shoulders well placed. Needs to tighten in front and drop in to his chest but that should come with time. Body proportions good, balanced ribs well back, just need to spring a little and thought to a good form loin. Coat harsh and good texture. Quarters developing well. Sound on the move with good footfall. Just at that in between stage at the moment, with a bit more body and once he gets his head together he should do well.

1st: 3975 BALMFORTH Mrs I Arnac Bay Chivalrous

Another pleasing dog, aged seven. He has a good overall shape of good size and overall construction. Balanced angles fore and aft. Head shape with a dark eye, strong neck into a good front. Depth to chest and ribs well sprung, firm loin, just a little more covering today than I like. Quarters are well made. Good coat in harsh condition. On the move he had a good action but not quite the enthusiasm of the principal winners today.

Class 1221 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3976 BALMFORTH Mrs I Sh Ch Arnac Bay Avenger for Neashalee

Where do I start with 11 year old chap, I last judged him just over a year ago since then and he has just got better since then and I see he has also gained his title. Well made with good construction. I liked his head, well shaped with good definition and a kind eye. He has a well made front, strong neck which led in to well placed shoulders and a decent return of upper arm. Chest well developed and ribs well sprung. Quarters good with moderately bent stifles. Coat dead grass colour and good texture. On the move he has a super action. Delighted to award him Best Dog and Best Veteran. He was just a tad stiff behind and tired at bit in the challenge. Thank you for bringing him again.

Class 1222 SBD/B (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3981 PEARCE Mrs G & Mr D Migwell Glory Be For Avifors (ai)

This bitch has a lovely shape about her, not quite as forward as her brother who was the junior dog winner. As with her brother she is super on the move with plenty of drive and a flowing gait. I liked her overall construction, firm through the neck which led in to well placed shoulders. Stands on well boned legs and good feet.  Body of good proportions, ribs need to spring but that will happen with time. Quarters well shape. Not in her best coat today. Best Special Beginner.

1st: 3981 PEARCE Mrs G & Mr D Migwell Glory Be (A.i) For Avifors (ai)

Class 1225 OB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 3977 BROOMFIELD Mrs C & Mr S Petsalls Pride Beech At Glaneils

I liked this bitch for her overall shape and style, she has a lovely feminine head and expression with good width of back skull. Strong through the neck in to a well assembled front, good lay back of shoulders. Ribs well sprung through to a firm loin. Quarters are well developed with moderate bend of stifle and good muscle. Shown in good condition, in good coat which had the correct texture. On the move she has a good profile action just needs a little more enthusiasm to finish and I am sue she will do very well. Delighted to award her Best Bitch and Best of Breed.

2nd: 3982 RAHMAN Mrs J Chesepi Umbagog Lake TAF

Another nice type of bitch but just not in her best coat today. Pleasing head of good proportions with an alert expression. Strong through the neck in to a decent front assembly, stands on well boned legs and good feet. Ribs well sprung and a firm loin. Gave her handler a hard time on the move and just didn’t have the accuracy of Pride Beech. Stepped up a gear in the challenge, where she was much more consistent, to take Reserve Best Bitch.
