1ST FLEETPAW ONE FOR ARTHUR (MRS H DRISCOLL)

Young liver boy standing alone in the class. Good overall shape and size to him, head of good proportions, wedge shaped just needs to darken in eye but she should do that as he matures. Good through the neck in to a well assembled front, stands on well boned legs. Right amount of depth for his age, ribs springing and loin firm as they should be. Quarters need to firm up and he needs to get his act together on the move as he wouldn’t settle at all today, but he certainly enjoyed himself which was good to see.

1ST CURLABULL DARK MOON RISING AT WIGHTCURLS (MR P & MS B MILLER & MILLICHAMP)

Good shape on this 23 month old black dog. Pleasing masculine wedge shaped head, lovely kind dark intelligent eye. His strong neck flowing well into well set shoulders, I would have just liked a little more lay back. Legs well boned. Good depth to the brisket and forechest well developed for his age. Hindquarters well-made would like a better finish to his croup. Still needing to tighten a tad more in elbow on the move but had good drive. In good coat and condition.

1ST GLADRAGS CREAM IN MY COFFEE (MR H R & MRS G, MR W C PHILLIPS & HARRIS)

I really fell for this liver bitch. I thought she had a beautiful head and expression which was enhanced by a lovely eye. Strong through the neck in to well set shoulders, good well boned legs and neat feet. Good deep chest on her, ribs well sprung and a firm loin, level topline. Well made rear with good angulation, moderately bent stifles and hock well let down. Super coat on her with a tight curl. Moved out well, would like her a shade tighter in front. Came alive in profile where she scored over the dog in the final challenge. Best of Breed and delighted to see her gain a Group shortlist, I look forward to watching her progress.

Close decision between these two, both top flight. I see the winner is already a champion and I heard afterward that the second had recently gained his title.

1ST SH CH BRIGHTMEADOW NEVER SAY DIE JW SHCM (MR J & MRS MB STEPHENS)

A super dog on the stack presenting the correct outline, he was that strong upstanding dog that I was looking for, but on the move today he just played the fool. Scored in outline and maturity over the second place dog. Head piece is OK with a good eye colour. Strong through the neck in to well assembled front, shoulders correctly set with a good return of upper arm, good straight legs. Good depth to his chest, ribs well spring and back. Correct level topline. Super well-muscled quarters, stifle moderately bent and hocks well let down. Please to award him Best Dog, if he had composed himself on the last run round he would have taken the top spot. Thank you for bringing him he was a pleasure to judge.

2ND LAGUNA LOVE DESMOND AT GLADRAGS (IMP LVA) (MR H R & MRS G, MR W C PHILLIPS & HARRIS)

A young dog with bags of quality about him and I wasn’t surprised to be told afterwards that he has his title. Today he was giving away a lot to the winner in terms of maturity and finish. I preferred his head to the winner, wedge shape of good overall proportion and a super eye to give that typical expression. strong neck in to a good front assembly on him with shoulders well laid back, stands on good well boned legs. Correct through the body, enough depth to chest for his age but should drop more as he matures to complete the picture. Quarters developing nicely. Coat of good quality with tight curl. I will watch his career with interest, with a bit of maturity I think he will be hearing a lot more from him. Reserve Best Dog
