Scottish Kennel Club Championship Show Aug 2018

LHASA APSO 57 (64 ENT 7ABS)

I would like to thank the committee for their hospitality and the exhibitors for a wonderful entry of Lhasa Apsos. It goes without saying that I was looking for all the breed characteristics we all hold dear to our hearts. So in writing my critics I have focused on the extra something I was looking for to take them to the next level. My disappointment on the day was a lovely male that's front went beyond acceptable and a bitch who's mouth was the same.

1st. Kelankins By Design -Mr and Mrs Taylor 8month old male He stood out in this disappointing class of young males.

PUPPY DOG 3 (3ENT 0 ABS)

1st. CHANCEINN AZA SCREW LOOSE AT FARRENMILLS - Mr And Mrs Caswell Gold and white 9 month dog. Overall shape and balance acceptable, in good coat, moved and handled well.

IST KUTANI SHOCKWAVE - MRS V CLUTTERBUCK AND MRS W CAIN - 17month outstanding example of the breed. Commanded the ring from the moment he entered it. Style and excitement meet the breed standard square on. A bright future awaits this young male. I was delighted to award him the RDCC in hot competition.

2ND TIMANZANTI MISKA AT FRENCHLANDS - MR, MRS AND MISS SCHUCKART Another very typey and sound young male. It was no disgrace to stand second to the winner.

1ST MARBLEDALE JENSON BUTTON - MRS L HAIGH. 3 years old male. Sound in construction and breed type. Good overall balance and moved out with style.

2ND GALLERIO GOLDEN BOY - MRS GREGSON. Cream Male again with good overall breed type. Pleasing shape and balance. Moved out well.

3RD ZAYLON LUKE SKYWALKER - MR AND MRS KEMP

1ST SHINGSA SULTAN SWING VIA CHTAURA - MRS A WATERHOUSE. Black and white male of classic Apso style. A pleasure to go over, born out on the move. He flowed around the ring and kept my attention at all times. He pushed hard for a top award and I wished I had that extra CC. I hope to have the pleasure of judging him on another occasion, he certainly has Champion qualities.

2ND SPYANKI OH HAPPY DAY JW SHCM - DR AND MR C LOGAN Gold Male 4 years old. Another with a shape and balance I found very pleasing, as with all my class winners he met the standard very well.

1ST CH SANDAURI SHOWSTOPPER FOR KUTANI (IMP RUS) - MRS W CAIN. This 2.5 year old gold male is totally captivating. He oozes breed type. Like my Junior winner the Breed standard meets Style Balance and that undeniable ´Je Ne Sais Quoi´ like the Mona Lisa smile that sends shivers up your spine when he turns his head to watch you. The look reminds me so much of another all time great in our breed Ch Saxonsprings Hackensack. He enters the ring and almost dares you to look elsewhere. A group and best in show winner, if ever I saw one. However, whilst well handled later in the group ring I felt he would have given that star performance I saw in my ring if he had been handled by his owner. DCC and Best of Breed.

2ND CH TIMAZINTIS BRITSKII AT KENIDA - MRS I WATTS - A pleasure to judge this quality male. Put down to perfection. Unlucky to meet 1 in this class. Another I would have liked to have had that extra CC for. Meets the breed standard square on. Moved with style and kept his balance on the move.

1ST LUEKIKI DIEMOS TO SPYANKI JW SHCM - DR K AND MR C LOGAN

This 9 year old male is a credit to his owner. He has good overall breed type and construction. Put down and shown in excellent condition.

MINORPUPPY BITCH 4 (5ENT 1ABS)

IST KINJAN ROSE GOLD - MRS K HARMER. It goes without saying that my class winners would carry all that I look for in breed type. I dont need to go over it point for point. But also they have to have that certain something which makes them a special apso. A future Champion! Both my first and second place winners in this class have that. When Kinjan Rose Gold entered the ring, she far outstripped my expectations of one so young. What an exciting representative of the breed she is. Quality from the tip of her nose through to the tip of her tail. I was delighted to award her BEST PUPPY IN BREED.

2ND BELAZIETH SUNSHINE GIRL - MRS M LEWIS. Another super Apso baby. What a promising young lady this is. You cant fault her. She just gave way to the winner on maturity if you can say that of a minor puppy. My hands flowed over her, so classically correct. Handled and put down to perfection. I am sure as with 1 she will carry that title of Champion in the future.

1ST LIPPYLOUES DOOLALLY WITH CHANCEINN - MR AD HORNE Black bitch puppy of good type and balance. A little naughty on the move but has the style and balance I was looking for.

2ND CHANCEINNS CROWN N GLORY - MISS D MCWILLIAMS Smaller bitch of good overall breed type.

IST KUTANI MATERIAL GIRL FOR MYAKARA - MRS V AND MRS V CLUTTERBUCK AND JACKSON. I was splitting hairs between these two absolutely gorgeous Apso girls. Both had all the breed and construction qualities I was looking for. I loved both their style, balance and attitude. A bright future ahead for both of them.

2ND WONDER WOMAN ASTARTE GOLD WITH MUIRFILED (IMP POL) MRS G HINSHWLWOOD. The delicious black girl is full of quality and breed type. Gorgeous to watch on the move. A delight as was 1 to go over. Fabulous movers with style. A bright future for these two young ladies.

IST DEELAYNE VITTORIA - MS G HOLLAND. Cream with a black overlay 3 year old bitch. She meets the breed standard square on with style. Put down to perfection and perfectly handled. Oozes Breed type and her movement is faultless. She is hard to fault and pushed the top winners hard, another I would have like to have a CC for. I am sure this lovely bitch will get her title.

2ND AMERICAS BZANBA VIA LHASENNA - MRS J SEAL My notes say exquisite grey and white bitch, all that I was looking for in breed type shape style and balance. Just preferred the head shape of the winner on the day. But another for top honours I am sure.

3RD AMDO'S ONE AND ONLY FOR FARRENMILLS JW - MR AND MRS CASWELL

1ST TIMANZINTI KIENKE - MRS J AND MISS S SCARLL AND SYKES. Pale Gold Bitch. My notes say STUNNING true to type, that caught my eye as she entered the ring. I was not disappointed on going over her. I would have loved a top award for her. The bitches where certainly giving me more choice and a real headache. There is no doubt in my mind she will carry her crown in time.

2ND LHASENNA JOMO - MRS J SEAL

 This is a very typey red bitch, no disgrace to stand second in this class. A good honest bitch very sound. Handled very well and in super condition.

3RD MUIRFAULD SUNSET ON SILK - MRS GR HINSHELWOOD

OPEN BITCH 3 (4ENT 1ABS)

1ST CH SHENEDENE MISS WORLD JW - MISS M HALL. This gold bitch is of truly outstanding breed type. Put down in excellent condition and shown with style and precision. She like my dog CC and BOB winner meets the standard head on and adds that extra something. A uniqueness that is essential in an outstanding representative of a breed.

She could not be denied the CC. She truly pushed the dog hard for BOB, but as I said earlier when the male turns to look at you he carries the look which I couldn't get past on this occasion. Another Group and BIS winner in my humble opinion.

2ND COSSY'S CAFFELLATTE MRS MV AND MR J LEWIS & NORRIS Hard for this bitch to meet the winner. She is a classically correct grey and white bitch of fabulous type. Moved out with style and handled extremely well.

3RD CHANCEINNS PILLOW TALK MR J WATT

VETERAN BITCH 1 (1ENT 0ABS)

IST CH TIMAZINTI LIBERTY - MRS J 7 MS S SCARLL & SYKES. Where do I start. Did I ever think when I got to this class that I would be giving a veteran a RCC, with the winners from the previous classes. What a Veteran! She oozes breed type style and balance. She is put down to absolute perfection. She pushed the CC winner hard! This 8 year old gold bitch has an amazing shape and balance. So classical, so me. She naturally fills the eye and your hands just flow over her. I was delighted to award her the BRCC and Best Veteran in Breed and so pleased she filled the eye of the other judges to end the day as BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
