Golden Retrievers

Many thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge at this well run open show. Thankyou too, to the exhibitors for their wonderful entry which made for some very tough decisions.

J (9) My star of the day came from this strong class of Juniors. 1. Murray’s Rathcloon Thyme N Punishment. A 13 month old, immaculately presented, pale bitch with the most feminine of heads and softest of expressions. Excellent length of neck, correctly made all through, stands foursquare on good bone & feet, dead level topline & tailset. A well angulated front & rear allows her to move effortlessly around the ring, loved everything about her, had no hesitation in awarding her BOB and was thrilled to hear she went G2. 2. Cuthill’s Mousseglen Macaria (AI) Well balanced 9 month old dark gold puppy bitch that I liked a lot. Lovely head with dark eye and pigment with the softest of expressions, nice flow of neck into excellent topline for one so young, good front angulation & well sprung ribs. Moved well. 3. McGeoch’s Nedlezah Moonlight Mist.

G (11) 1. Murray’s Rathcloon Thyme N Punishment 2. Ponsford’s Glenrioch New Beginnings For Libertygold JW Impressive bitch with maturity beyond her 2 years. She has a lovely balanced outline & level topline which she held on the move. Not as feminine as 1 but still has a sweet expression. Good neck into clean laid back shoulders with matching return of upper arm & good forechest. Very well sprung ribs, short coupled, excellent bend of stifle, strongly made hind quarters. 3. McAleese’s Lochtaymor Conquistador For Glormhorcu

PG( 7) Harper’s Glynerva Indiana Jones JW 18 month old golden dog with the most beautiful of heads, with dark pigment giving a gentle expression. He has a strong neck into well laid back shoulders, well sprung ribs of good length, level topline with tailset on and carried well. Moved out straight and true. He still has a lot of maturing to do but when he does he will trouble the best. 2. McGeogh’s Nedlezah Moonlight Mist, This 17 month old is not a big girl but has a beautiful outline & good overall balance. Presented in good hard condition, she has a very feminine well balanced head, good layback of shoulders, with a level topline which she held on the move. 3. McGuffie’s Milltimber Island Mist

O (12) A class packed with quality, splitting hairs between 1 and 2. Just preferred the head of one. 1. Beck’s Bluebraes Baltimore Jack JW. What a handsome dog this is. 3 year old, all male, golden boy with the most masculine of heads with gentlest of expressions, presented in excellent coat and condition, this dog has excellent front & rear angulation, spring of rib & depth of chest. His neck flows into the strongest of toplines which is held beautifully on the move. At one with his handler. 2. Greig’s Nedlezah Stay My Charmer At Cranngary You honestly wouldn’t think this boy was 9 years old. I have judged him in the past and he still does not disappoint. Gorgeous quality dog with a lovely head & gentle expression, dark eye & lovely pigment, straight front with good bone & neat feet, very well made all through with level topline & tailset. In really good condition, stands foursquare to present a lovely outline. Thrilled to hear he went BVIS. 3. Harper’s Glynerva Matinee Idol.
