Matlock & District Canine Society

Matlock and District Canine Society Open show 19th February 2017

English Setters

Junior – 4 (2)

1st Whites Nidbeck Scarlet Lady at Paduan, 7 months orange bitch, nice head with kind expression, shown in excellent coat and condition, good bone , well angulated, kept her topline on the move, stood and moved better than 2nd which cost him the class. Would prefer tighter feet. BP

2nd Hoppers Bramstorm Forest Sprite

Post Graduate – 3 (1)

1st Pearsons Bradstar Total Eclipse at Yessandi. 20 months orange dog, I have watched this boy since he was a puppy and was honoured to have the chance to go over him. He is maturing nicely, has the most beautiful chiselled head with eyes full of mischief and good layback of shoulders. Well ribbed and deep body, very well off for bone, Straight front , lovely bend of stifle and moved out well. Excellent presentation. In the challenge he was against two very well made, mature bitches and needs just a bit more time to fulfil his potential, then I feel he will trouble the best. One for the future.

2nd Bryant & Hollis’ Phenset Firely

Open – 3 (0)

Very close decision between 1st and 2nd place, two beautiful bitches, in the end I had to really nit-pick and my decision came down purely to movement on the day.

1st McCabe’s Rachdale Sea Pearl. Orange bitch, very feminine whilst full of substance. Lean head and dark eye with a lovely gentle expression. Long neck leading into well laid back shoulders, very well ribbed and excellent angulation. Neatest of feet, good bone, straight front and level topline which she held on the move, her tail was slashing away as she went. Presentation was perfect, in full, gleaming coat. BOB and shortlisted in a large Gundog Group.

2nd Williamsons Balvenie Sheer Surprise RBOB

3rd Bramstorm Forest Sprite
