Pointers

This was my first judging appointment for this beautiful breed, I owned and showed them many years ago, so was very excited when invited to judge them. Sadly there were quite a few absentees but I was very pleased with all those that I had a chance to judge and I thank you all for the sporting way in which you accepted my placings.

This class gave me the biggest headache of the day, some lovely dogs that looked superb standing and I knew I would have my work cut out, especially when I went over them and they lived up to expectations. In the end I had to go by movement, however, I am sure that they could all change places on another day and on a different floor.

1st Hawkes & Robinsons Theadom Canopus, liver and white bitch, not a big one but everything in the right place, lovely outline when standing and beautifully balanced throughout. Well laid back shoulders, good length of upper arm, well ribbed, correct sloping pasterns. She was the best mover in the class and was also pleased to award her RBOB.

2nd Wilsons Bonnygate Master Ghillie

3rd Saunders Teisgol Double Trigger

1st Saunders Teisgol Massalia, very balanced black and white dog, very good head and eye giving a gentle expression, wide nostrils, powerful neck set into good shoulders, well sprung ribs and firm topline, excellent 2nd thigh, moved very soundly around the ring as if he owned it. Was delighted to award him BOB.
