I would first like to thank the Society for inviting me to judge at your show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and was well looked after by the friendly and efficient committee. Thank you also to my stewards who kept things running smoothly and made my day even more enjoyable.

I was pleased with the overall quality of the dogs who were a credit to their owners. Thank you to the exhibitors for entering some lovely dogs for me to go over.

Puppy (3)

1 Rooney’s Yorone All That Glitters, 7 month old fawn dog. Lots of confidence for one so young, nice level topline carried well on the move. Correctly set, nicely flared ears which he used well. Loved his expression. Front and rear assembly allowed for sound movement both ways with good reach and drive and the correct brisk gait. A soundly constructed dog, and one to watch. BP.

Junior (5, 1 abs)

1 Obringer’s Oozora Mama Mia Chiaffie, 15 month old cream and white bitch. This little girl caught my eye straight away. Compact, dainty with a super head and expression, and oozing breed type. Level topline which she carried well on the move. Melting expression with eyes I could get lost in. Correct tail set, carried and used well. Sound on the move. Nicely developed coat in good condition.

Post Graduate (3, 1 abs)

1 Obringer’s Amato Azzurro Rock Me Amadeus Chiaffie IMP, 2 year old cream dog. A little nervous on the table, but came into his own on the move. Nice skull, good ear placement and deep stop. Well boned with good balance and well sprung ribs. A nice straight front assembly. Lovely coat with feathering that is not overdone.

1 Rooney’s Donami Limelight, 2 year old cream bitch. This is a bitch I have often admired from the ringside. She certainly did not disappoint. A real show girl, compact, dainty and in superb condition. A head that typifies breed type with an expression that just dared me not to place her first. Sound, brisk movement coming from correct angulation with good front reach and rear drive. Very attentive to her handler; she never stopped showing. A lovely coat which is not overdone. BOB.

1 Fothergill’s Diamonchi Golden Symphony, 7 month old gold bitch. Very much liked the head on this girl with lovely expression, good dentition and true to breed type. Good reach of neck with well sprung ribs. Level topline which she held on the move. Correct, well set on tail. A sound mover with good turn of stifle.

Junior (6, 3 abs)

1 Entwistle’s Corbrayash Out Witta Bang Dorenty, 8.5 month old fawn bitch. A very nice little bitch with sound construction. Perfectly straight front assembly, mirrored in the rear. Large, flaring, well used ears. Super head with a deep stop. This was a difficult decision between 1 and 2 in this class, but in the end, this bitch just had the edge. Lovely on the stand, and lovely on the move, with confidence and much to like about her. Unfortunately, she was less confident in the challenge, but nevertheless a worthy BP. Was then thrilled to see her take Puppy Group 3.

Post Graduate (6, 2 abs)

1 Fothergill’s Diamonchi Starmaster, 12 month old fawn dog. This was a quality class, but what gave this dog the edge was movement. Cannot fault his angulation, construction and drive. Perfect balance both when static and on the move. Spirit level topline, carried well. Absolutely sound from every angle.

1 Fothergill’s Diamonchi Shooting Star JW, 3 year old red bitch. Just wow. This girl caught my eye straight away and has a commanding ring presence. She oozes breed type. Good dentition, super head, lovely eyes and expression. Large, flaring, well used ears. Sound balance with solid front and rear assembly. Movement is free with the correct action. Tail also well used with correct set on and sickle shape. There is so much to like about her. BOB, and thrilled to see her go on to take G2.
