GOLDEN RETRIEVERS

Judge: Paulina O’Gorman (Kurek) – Berrymeade

First of all, I would like to say thank you to the Committee of the EELKS for inviting me and for giving me the opportunity to judge at Open Show level for the very first time. This, of course, would have not been possible if I had not received such a wonderful entry of quality dogs, therefore many thanks to all of the exhibitors who gave me the privilege of going over their dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and I was extremely pleased to see my BOB/BP winner going on to win Gundog Group  2, Gundog Puppy 1 and Reserve BIS Puppy.

What I would like to point out is that, while the majority of dogs entered today were in great overall condition, there were a number of dogs on the heavier side.

PUPPY DOG/BITCH (10, 2a)

Mr & Mrs Seamons’ St Vincent Moonlighting At Messano 10 month old golden girl who stood out for me today for her overall balance and happy, outgoing temperament. Feminine head with dark eye and soft expression, correct bite; good length of neck flowing into well laid-back shoulders. Not exaggerated with correct angles both fore & aft. Moved out with ease and drive holding her level topline. Beautifully handled, happy girl, enjoying her day out and I was pleased to award her BOB & BP.

2. Mr & Mrs Leonard’s WYNRITA SECRET MAGIC Very promising young bitch with feminine head, soft expression and good clean neck. Balanced with correct angulation and straight front. Level topline, deep chest, well-bent stifles, good coat, moved easily.
