MINIATURE LONG-HAIRED DACHSHUNDS

J (3,1a) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Just be Lucky. 15m bitch with a nice head and neck, good coat (not too heavy) and moved well. I liked her length and proportions. She was my BOB today, winning on her topline and confidence. 2 McCarthy’s Nagshall Double Dig. 6m dog who had a nice typey head although I would have preferred a longer length of neck. He moved well and was very confident for his age. BP.

PG (1) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Cristobel. A pretty bitch with a good head, expression and neck. She also had a good coat that wasn’t too heavy. Although she moved well she did not hold her topline as well on the move as the Junior winner in the BOB challenge. I was happy to award her RBOB.

O (3,2a) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Santa Amelia. 13m bitch with a nice topline and head. Although well-proportioned and looked good in profile, she lost her topline on the move which cost her top awards against the other two class winners.

MINIATURE SMOOTH-HAIRED DACHSHUNDS

J (1) 1 Bullis’ Amaffrey La Vie En Rose. 14m red bitch with a smaller head than I prefer but otherwise she was a feminine, well-balanced girl with good ribbing, topline which was also held on the move.

PG (2) 1 Barnes’ Swingletrees Viva Las Vegas. Although he is a larger dog, he is of a very nice type and looked good both stacked and on the move. If being picky I would prefer a longer neck but otherwise a very lovely boy who beat his litter sister on movement in the class. My RBOB today. 2 2 Burton’s Swingletrees Star Arni Dahl. Litter sister to the class winner, she is also of nice type. I especially liked her feminine head and length of neck.

O (3) 1 Bullis’ Goodtry Ruby Tuesday at Amaffrey. She caught my eye when she entered the ring; a feminine, well-balanced girl of a type that I like. She looked good both stacked and on the move – and moved with purpose. She was good to go over too and was my star in this variety today – BOB. 2 Burton’s Xtravaganza. 4yo bitch of nice type and dam to my two PG entries. I liked her length of body, reachy neck and feminine head. She moved well but was unlucky to meet the class winner. 3 Dimon’s Indyvic Enchanted Onyx.

STANDARD LONG-HAIRED DACHSHUNDS

J (2) 1 Clarke’s Tekalhaus Diamond Life. 11m red bitch who caught my eye; she is of a very nice type with an elegant head, balanced outline and great lopline. She was confident and good to go over, highlighted by the fact she carried her head so graciously on the move. She has a correct coat – neither heavy or overly long. She pushed hard for BOB but lost out to her mother on overall ring presence and movement, which I’m sure will come with maturity. RBOB and BP. 2 Booth-Elsley’s Raphaela Rude to Abbalongdat (Imp LTU). Another nice red bitch who also moved well and kept a good topline on the move. I appreciated her feminine head and correct coat. She was unlucky to meet 1 today.

PG (2) 1 Dimon’s Labbadax Inspiration for Dimerlin. Red dog with lovely temperament. He had a good coat and topline. He moved freely and with purpose and I appreciated his reachy neck and good feet. 2 Booth-Elsley’s Romeo Rude to Abbalongdat (Imp LTU). Litter brother to 2nd in Junior. Another nice youngster with a good temperament and confidence. I appreciated his topline, which he held on the move, and his correct coat and movement. I would have preferred a slightly longer neck but otherwise a very promising pup.

O (3) 1 Clarke’s Tekalhaus Million to One ShCM. 3yo red bitch who I have admired since a pup and she is one of those dogs with star quality and presence in the ring. She has an elegant, feminine head, excellent temperament and a correct coat which is neither overly-long or heavy. She moved with purpose and held her topline. My BOB today and was thrilled to see her go G1. 2 Booth-Elsley’s Labbadax Gimme Gimme Gimme at Abbalongdat. Red bitch with a nice head, neck, expression and good topline. She also had a correct coat and moved well. She was unlucky to meet 1 today. 3 Dimon’s Dimerlin Isolde.

BOSTON TERRIERS

J (2,1a) 1 Mason’s Aprika Beverley Hills. Feminine bitch with a nice head, neck and well-set ears, which gave her a good, alert but sweet expression. She looked good in profile and on the move and was of a nice type. RBOB.

PG (1) 1 Mason’s Aprika Beverley Hills.

O (1) 1 Conway & Chapman’s Norcairn Done N Dusted. I appreciated the shape and size of her head and her ears which were placed and carried well. She had a reachy neck and good body – more compact and balanced than my Junior winner. She moved well and won today on her overall confidence, muzzle length and type. BOB.
