Whippets

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at your show, I had an enjoyable day. The quality of dogs in most classes were superb, however I have made in my notes more than once that some exhibits were rather chubby and lacking muscle tone, we must not forget whippets are a breed built for running and speed not sofa surfing, regardless of how how good they are at it!

Puppy (4,1)

1 Klaruchart Allama With Citycroft (Imp). 8mth pale fawn bitch. Feminine head, kind expression and superb pigmentation. Strong in body yet not lacking any elegance. Good lay of shoulder, pasterns and nice neat feet. Lovely depth of body for her age. Correctly angulated hind quarters. True coming and going, sound mover. BPIB. Pleased to hear she took PG1 and RBPIS. Congratulations.

2 Gazenorth Secret Service. 10mth fawn male. A really quality boy with the most endearing expression. Just lost out on maturity, he is at a somewhat leggy stage at present. unsettled but moved well, just needs time.

3 Lolani Tennessee Fire At Amphoras.

Junior (4,1)

1 Railfield Rainmaster. 14mth red brindle male. Caught my eye from the moment he set foot in the ring. Masculine head with strong underjaw. long elegant neck leading to correct shoulder. Well sprung pasterns. Excellent depth of chest. Well defined hind quarters and nice neat feet all round. In tip top condition. Super mover, so powerful! Pleased to learn after this was his last JW point. Congratulations! RBOB.

2 Marleben Dream Mover. 12mth pale fawn bitch. A very close decision between 1 & 2. Very different in type to 1 but still not lacking any quality. Good pasterns and feet, Strong in body, excellent lay of shoulder and depth of chest. Just out moved by one.

3 Elenbeach Curiosity.

Post Graduate (7, 2a)

1 Shirotae Solo Suprise. 18mth fawn bitch. I immediately felt a sense of familiarity with this bitch, even though I had never seen her before. Beautiful elegant girl with the most wonderful head and expression, superb pigmentation. Long neck leading to good shoulders and excellent bone. Neat feet. Curvy throughout. Powerful hindquarters. Moved gracefully around the ring holding her topline with a true daisy cutting action. I have since learnt that she is a half sister to a bitch I once owned, they are very similar in type and both extremely beautiful. Very happy to award her BOB.

2 Railfield Rainmaster.

3 Haccasbrook Madam Gigi.

Open Dog (3,1)

1 Layways Northern Lights Over Coppershell. 18mth old brindle male. A nicely put together young chap who excelled on the move. Up to size yet still graceful. Great lay of shoulder and pasterns, neat feet and moderate angulation throughout.

2 Silvensong Showdown. 2 year brindle particolour male. A very nice sized dog with good return of upperarm and a nice deep body. Totally different in type to 1. Just lost out to 1 on movement.

Open Bitch (6)

1 Shalfleet Amber Nectar At Meandi. 3 year old brindle particolour bitch. A beautiful elegant girl who is all whippet. Super size. Neat, pretty head, with fine ears. I have admired her from the ringside many a time and she did not disappoint to go over. Lovely coat and body condition. Considered for top awards but just gave it away in the challenge on movement

2 Marleben Dream Maker. 12mth fawn bitch. Litter sister to 2nd in Junior. A nice bitch with a lovely shape and maturity for her age. Moved well when at the right speed, please don't rush her. A little plump for my liking but this can be forgiven at such a young age. Very much the same virtues as her sister just on a slightly larger scale.

3 Shirotae Gin Sing
