May I thank the Committee for inviting me to judge, and also to the exhibitors who all came to support the show on Easter Sunday! – many thanks to you all and I wish you all good luck in your future shows as I had some lovely exhibits to go over.

Cocker Spaniel

Puppy 3 entries

1st Barnes Challowdown Tennessee – a lovely mature boy at only 11mths – had real drive on the move which won him the class – beautifully balanced head in good proportions, lovely reach of neck leading into firm topline and drive from the rear. Best Puppy & Puppy Group 4

2nd Carpenter Zakova Top Kat

3rd Clifford Serci After Dark at Shadow Amor NAR (Imp Hun)

Junior – no entries

Post Grad 2 entries 1 absent

1st Parker Uxendel Spotsea at Cavineal - Such a happy little girl – so enjoyed her day! Slightly shorter on the leg than I would like but good feet and bone – good spring of rib and correct front angulation.

Open Dog 3 entries

What a lovely class – thank you!

1st Carpenter Bel/Lux CH Lynwater Belgian Chocolate JW ShCM BW15 – what a cracking liver/roan dog. Oused quality and type from the moment he entered the ring – lovely head leading to flowing neck and front angulation – good length and rib with such sound movement with the true merry cocker action – real drive from the rear he never put a foot wrong, a truly worthy winner and I was delighted to award him the Gundog Group later in the day. BOB, Gundog Group.

Retriever (Labrador)

Puppy – 4 entries

1st Goodman Lulukella’s Hometown Glory – a lovely black girl with a very pretty head – good body to height proportions, clean strong neck, nicely sprung ribs with a level topline. True movement for and aft . Best Puppy & Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd Harvey-major & Bambrook Marshwiggle Shakespeare at Ravoakar

3rd Lewis Gamesmere Strawberry Moon

4th Jury Tessholly’s Pepita

Junior – 1 entry

1st Jury Tessholly’s Pepita - a yellow girl full of herself today! Hard to assess movement, would prefer more work in her head and better rear angulation.

Post Grad 2 entries – 1 absent

Longhurst Hurstmeon Erin Boag – a nice black that struggled with the surface of the ring – she did not like the lines! However, once settled moved well on the move, would prefer more height to her but proportions were there – lovely forechest with long sloping shoulders giving her a lovely front action.

Open 4 entries 1 absent

Harvey-major & Bambrook Linjor Sessile Oak at Ravoakar – A truly fine example of the breed, excellent muscle tone throughout, shown in tip top condition. Nice broad skull with correct stop, lovely expressive eyes of correct colour. Feet round and compact with good straight leg bone – kept straight topline on the move where she used the ring to advantage and powered round with drive. BOB & Gundog Group 3

2nd Goodman Lulukella’s Kiss and Tell

AVNSC Gundog Puppy – no entries

AVNSC Gundog Junior – 3 entries – 3 absent

AVNSC Post Grad – no entries

AVNSC Open Dog – 3 entries – 3 absent

AVNSC Open Bitch – 1 entry

Braine SH CH Kuantan Kordelia SHCM – Weimaraner lovely head and shoulders, moved well considering the small ring – on the stack kept pushing forward which lost her overall balance and rear angulation. A lovely girl though. BOB pushed hard in the Gundog Group for a top spot.
