JUDGE: MARC SMITH

I was thrilled to judge my first championship show at the place where it all began for me. Despite the low numbers owing to it being a weekday with no CCs, I was happy with my winners and I would like to thank the exhibitors for their entry and sportsmanship.

PD (1) 1 Walker’s Alncroft Mangetout at Dexbenella. A smart dog of 11 months with a good head, neck and topline, which he held well on the move. I also appreciated his correct coat and underline. He needs a little more confidence. RBD and BPIB.

JD, PGD & LD (no entries)

OD (2) 1 Rose’s Ch Ridanflight Ricardo. 4.5yo confident, stylish dog who presents an excellent profile both stacked and on the move. He is of the correct size and is well-proportioned with a good neck, topline and coat. He moved with drive and was a clear BOB on the day. 2 Williams’ & Moe’s Give Me Fice Vitoraz (Imp CZE). 14 month old taller, larger type. Although more forward in the shoulder than I’d prefer, he presented a good profile and was nicely proportioned. I especially liked his head, neck and topline, which he held well on the move, but I felt he lacked the confidence and style of 1.

GC (2,1a) 1 Crow’s Compania Pandora. 3.5yo bitch who clearly enjoyed her day judging by her friendly and outgoing character. She had a good topline and ribbing although she was longer that I prefer. She had good angulation and moved well.

PB (3,2a) 1 Crow’s Martinks Drives You Dotty. 9 month old with a nice head, neck, ribbing and proportions. She did lose her topline on the move and lacked confidence but once she settled down she presented well. RBB.

JB (no entries)

PGB (2) 1 Walker’s Starhill Little Mis Sunshine at Dexbenella. 2yo confident, well-proportioned bitch who moved with purpose while showing off her good topline. Her head and neck was ok and I’d prefer a shorter, harsher coat but otherwise a very nice girl. I awarded her BB but found the BD, her sire, hard to fault. 2 Crow’s Compania Pandora.

LB (no entries)

OB (1) Walker’s Fallowmill Please Miss at Dexbenella. Also sired by my BOB, she was another confident bitch who moved well and with purpose. She had a good topline, head and neck but in the challenge I preferred the proportions and angulation of my PGB winner.
