Bournemouth Canine Association – Championship Show
14th August 2017
It was a great honour to receive the invitation from Bournemouth to award my third set of CCs in Kleins. Not a huge entry numerically, although about average for the year, quality was mixed with a few light eyes creeping in, incorrect mouths and poor movement on display. The majority of exhibits were presented in clean condition and exhibited typical spitz temperaments. The principle winners were excellent examples of the breed and there are some promising youngsters making their way through the classes. I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge; my very efficient stewards for ensuring the ring ran smoothly, and to the exhibitors who supported me and the sporting way in which they accepted my decisions.
German Spitz Klein
Puppy Dog (4,0)
A class of promising youngsters at varying stages of maturity and coat.
1st Dyer & Orr’s Musique Wishful Thinking. Mature 8.5 month-old brown shown in good coat of correct texture. Presents a pleasing, balanced outline on the stand. Masculine head of good proportions with correct eye, which could be darker. Ears well set and used throughout. Good bone for size into neat feet. Good angles front and rear, moved out steadily covering the ground. BPIB.
2nd Chambers’ Musique Quilo. Cream litter brother to 1, though that would not be immediately apparent. Well proportioned with a short compact body, and good bone. Good head with correct eye and soft expression, would prefer smaller ears. Correct angles front, moved out well, though rear could have been more positive.
3rd Hull’s Clarmers Gunna’b Special
Junior Dog 3, 0)
1st Dyer & Orr’s Musique Wishful Thinking (Winner of PD)
2nd Bayliss’ Kysiena Chant of the Dream at Karmajen. Parti-colour of almost 18 months. A tad stretched in overall body proportions though okay for bone and size. Head okay, but would prefer a flatter skull. Correct eye, would benefit from darker pigment. Really not showing himself off to advantage today and tending to drop his tail.
3rd Sutherland’s Chilite Chogan.
Post Graduate Dog (1,1)
WITHDRAWN.
Limit Dog (1,1)
WITHDRAWN.
Open Dog (7, 1)
1st Dyer’s Obertitz Curiousity at Javarm Black dog of almost 3 years old, possessing excellent breed type. On the stand he can look a tad long, but once hands on you can appreciate he possesses excellent overall balance with good conformation. He is good for size and is well boned. Very pleasing masculine head of correct proportions, with excellent eye and neat well set ears. Shown in firm condition with good muscle tone, on the move he was sound away and towards, and exhibited good reach and drive in the sidegait. DCC.
2nd Chamber’s Manzamas It’s Right It’s Wrong (Imp) Well coated 3-year-old quality cream with a very typical outline. Excellent proportions overall and beautiful wedge shaped head with correct dark eye and neat well set ears. Moved out well with purpose. Was a close decision between 1 & 2, just felt that 1st had the edge on showmanship and scored on rear movement. RDCC
