Boston & District Canine Society

Breed: Retriever (Labrador)

Boston and District Canine Society  Championship Show 6th January 2017

Labrador Retriever’s

I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge at this well run and organised show, a credit to the Secretary and her team. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for the wonderful entry, the sportsmanship and accepting my decisions on the day. I would just like to point out that we need to be careful regarding the heads of this wonderful breed, there are a few that are becoming too strong and wide between the eyes and this is affecting the lovely kind expression that we should have in this breed.

Sweet head and expression with a good length of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, good angles front and rear, good depth of chest, level top line going into a good tail set, this was held well on the move, I will enjoy watching this young dog with interest, the only thing I would say is the handler needs to settle down and compose herself in the ring to ensure that she gets the best out of him.
