My thanks for the opportunity to judge Pointers & Welsh Springer Spaniels at this excellent outside open show, unfortunately it clashed with a championship show on Gundog day, all the dogs were presented in very clean condition. I was very pleased with my final line up.

Pointers

Puppy Dog/Bitch (3, 2 abs)

1st. Ovel, Sharnphilly Athos at Jimaura. 7 month puppy dog, good head kind eye, clean neck into well laid back shoulders, level topline with correct tail set, moved well for age, needs to lose a little weight as it grows. Best Puppy.

Junior Dog/Bitch (2, 1 abs)

1st. Barnes, Zeta Orions, 17 month old dog, overall good head with correct eye, good ear set, lovely length of neck into well laid back shoulders, a little long in body, nicely put together at the rear lashing tail on the move.

Graduate Dog/Bitch (1, 0)

1st. Tregaskis, Moenfair Spicewood Summer, This dog has developed into a lovely boy, I have judged him as a youngster and he has improved. Lovely head with gentle expression, strong neck into well laid back shoulders, straight front with correct bone, sloping pasterns, correct feet, well developed chest with excellent depth, level top line and good level tail set, good turn of stifle with very well-muscled rear, gave his handler a hard time with his bouncing, she managed to get under control, he moved around the ring with excellent drive from the rear, the complete picture. Best of Breed and Gundog Group 2

Open Dog/Bitch (5, 0abs)

1st. Hazeltine & Welch, Just Wilburt by Hookwood JW. Last judges this dog at 8mth, pleasing head good length of neck into well laid shoulders, straight front, well developed body with correct top line, good turn of stifle, well-muscled correct tail used well on the move, handled to perfection. 2nd. Tregaskis, Moenfair Tinpenny Tod Tails. Beautiful feminine bitch, with a head to match, lovely neck into laid back shoulders, level topline, good body with lovely rear quarters, moved well around the ring,   

3rd. Welsh, Oxfordacres Trinity by Hookwood JW ShCM.

4th. Barnes, Fisherbloom Fools Gold.

Graduate Dog/Bitch (3 0abs)

1st. Thomas, Bowdonia Anastasia, 16month old bitch lovely rich colour, correct head,  well defined stop, correct ear set, long clean neck set into good shoulders, strong and muscular. Good depth of brisket, well sprung ribs, body in correct proportion. Strong rear quarters with correct tail used to perfection, moved with purpose covering the ground. Coat still to come, BOB & Group 4

3rd. Charles, Stagarth a Kind off Magic

Open Dog/Bitch (3, 1abs)

1st. Ellis, Glenbrowes Fascination with Shannara, 4 year old bitch lovely rich colour in full coat, lovely head with correct ear set, strong neck into good shoulders. Good depth with correct topline, strong rear quarters with correct use of tail on the move, just lost out to graduate bitch on movement. RBOB
