Luton Canine Association

I would like to thank the exhibitors who turned up on a frosty and foggy morning. Out of an entry of 16, there were many absentees due to vets' appointments and bitches being in season. Thank you to my two helpful stewards who kept the ring running smoothly.

I was delighted to watch my B.O.B winning G1 in the group, beating some beautiful hounds. He later on won Best in Show for the day, returning the following day to win overall Best In Show: A great achievement for a young wolfhound. My best puppy took G3 in a nice puppy group. Very well done to both of you!

Junior Dog/Bitch 3 (2ab)

1st Malone's Barachois Mellow Yellow. 9 month old brindle bitch. A nicely presented raw puppy enjoying her day out. Plain head with a dark eye. Correct length of muzzle and well held ears. Strong neck, well ribbed back. Long straight legs with correct feet, toes well arched. Thighs well muscled and angulated. Correct tuck up. When stood correctly she looked curvaceous. Moved with enthusiasm. Best Puppy.

Post Graduate Dog/Bitch 7(5ab)

1st. Treadwell's Glengail Ggilmour at Floydian. 20 month old brindle dog. Upstanding male. Nicely furnished head. Strong jaw with correct dentition. Ears slightly large, but well held. Neck strong, well arched. Muscular shoulders giving breath of chest. I would prefer a longer upper arm to complete the picture. Chest deep and well ribbed back. Loin muscular and strong. Well off for bone. Rear well angulated and muscled which helped him to power around the ring with ease. Pleased to award him Best of Breed.

2nd. Forret's Culvercroft Hermone. 14 month brindle bitch. Nicely presented and very sympathetically handled. Harsh coat. Head of correct proportions. Strong neck. Shoulders muscular giving breath of chest. Correct rise over the loin. Well angulated rear. Correct feet, well padded. Carrying an extra kilo or two which showed in underline and on the move.

Open Dog/Bitch 6(4ab)

1st Webb's Rainster Ikra of Inkleyboys. 3 year old male. Tall dark brindle boy. Dark eye, well held ears. Neck muscular though a little stuffy looking. Deep chest. Would like more length of body. Well off for bone. Moved well, though would like to see more drive from rear quarters. RBOB.

2nd Forret's Seplecur Martine of Culvercroft. 4 year old bitch. No critique available, exhibitor left ring.
