Breed: Japanese Shiba Inu

Japanese Shiba Inu

Puppy dog: (2,1) 1. Dunhill’s Vormund Maserati. 8 mo puppy with a coat of the most stunning red which is of correct harsh texture. Lovely head with correct proportions with good eye shape and neat forward placed ears. Correct ‘H’ front and good shoulder placement. Neck proudly arched. Rear with long second thigh and well let down hocks. Apart from some initial puppy excitement, moved out well – so sound. Couldn’t get past him – BP, BD and BOB. Very pleased to see him take Puppy Group 4.

Junior Dog: (2,2)

Post Graduate Dog: (2,1) Caudrelier’s Hikays Back To Black. 20 months black and tan with good quality top coat; overall proportions good. Very attractive head with good cheek development. Sufficient bone; tail set and carriage good. At the moment lacking a little in body, and on the day felt that he was not giving it his all. Moved well but going a little wide in front.

Limit Dog: (3,1) 1. Matthews Vormund Red Foo. Lovely shaded red with real ‘spritz’ texture to his top coat and correct undercoat, all well presented. Quality head with well-placed ears, good cheek development. Lovely eye shape and ‘ridge’ adding to super expression. Correct arch of neck, good in front and rear angulation. Good for bone and correct feet. Pleasure to watch on the move. RBD. 2. Rowley’s Bluevine’s Now You See Me. Slightly smaller dog, just lacking the presence of 1. Very attractive in head with lovely ear shape and placement. Sufficient arch of neck. Coat in good order and good tail set and carriage. Very good feet. Moved well but foot placement could be more precise.

Open Dog: (0)

Veteran Dog or Bitch: (1). 1. Clews’ Mymsin Kentaro. Lovely 8yo red boy with impressive head and good forward placed ears. Good overall shape with sufficient bone and good in pastern. Moving soundly. Unfortunately suffering from the pollen count today.

Good Citizen Dog or Bitch: (0)

Puppy Bitch: (1). 1. Needs’ Mymsin Aka Chika. Pretty, feminine red girl of 7months. I loved her head and expression, with lovely neat well placed ears. Good front. Coat quality and colour good. A lot to like, but needs to gain in ring confidence and a little wayward on the move.

Junior Bitch: (1). 1. Fitzakerly’s Bearpark Dragon Heart. Quality bitch. Shaded red with dark dorsal stripe; coat of correct texture and presented beautifully. Good ‘H’ front and lovely bone and correct feet. Overall proportions good, strong rear with well let down hocks. Tail set correct; has a tendency to drop her tail when her attention wanders. Lovely and sound on the move when settled. RBB.

Post Graduate Bitch: (1) 1. Huston’s Tohoku Irish Charm. Red of good colour with very pretty head and correct ears and lovely pigment. A little longer cast in body. Not as free on the move as would like to see.

Limit Bitch: (2,1) 1. Butler’s Evilicious Borna Show Girl at Sondagi. Lovely head and expression with correct forward placed ears. Good straight front and forechest; good overall body shape but could be stronger in rear. Good tail set and carriage. Moved neatly.

Open Bitch: (3,1) 1. Dunhill-Hall, Bridges and Croft-Elliot’s Ch Vormund Fashion Baby AW’14. Such a feminine bitch with a real ‘look at me’ quality about her. Coat of true red. Loved her head and expression, her lovely arch of neck and beautiful ‘H’ front with complementary rear showing in her sound movement with sufficient reach and drive. No hesitation in making her BB. When it came to the challenge I just felt the puppy dog had the extra sparkle on the day. 2. Wilson’s Janeryl Rocking Rio. Good for bone and lovely intense pigment. A different style of bitch to 1 and less athletic in outline. Moved soundly.
