Windsor Dog Show Society – Championship Show

2nd July 2015

It was with a great deal of pleasure that I accepted the invitation to award challenge certificates at Windsor, the “sunshine” show. This was my second appointment in Kleins, having first awarded CCs in them two years ago. This time, I did not have a large entry, so am unable to determine if it was an accurate representation of current standard of the breed. Sadly, there was rather a mix in quality, type and size, with poor conformation and movement demonstrated. That said, most were presented in good, clean condition and exhibited typical spitz temperaments. The principle winners were excellent examples of the breed and it was particularly delightful to watch the best of breed win a strong Utility group under Jackie Kitchener. I would like to thank the Windsor society for inviting me to judge; my very efficient stewards for ensuring the ring ran smoothly, and especially to the exhibitors who supported me by their attendance and in the sporting way in which they accepted my decisions.

German Spitz Klein

Veteran Dog/Bitch (1, 0)

1st Trendle’s Ch Lusam Parti Popper Sh.CM. At almost 10-years-old this bitch still maintains the quality by which she gained her title. Correct head proportions, with correct shaped dark eye & neat ears. Good body shape and square outline. Moved out well with purpose and drive.

German Spitz Klein – Puppy Dog (1, 0)

1st Hewitt’s Oberitz New Horizons. 10mth black. Good head proportions, alert with nice expression. Good overall proportions. Both handler and dog will benefit from more experience in the ring.

German Spitz Klein – Post Graduate Dog (2, 0)

1st Bamford’s Applebanks Goldfinger At Hazdawn. Gold/Cream substantial male. Well presented in good coat of correct texture. Correct wedge shaped head with dark oval eyes. Moved with purpose.

2nd Carrington’s Lady J Kysiena Dances With Wolves. Lacked confidence on the table and was reluctant to use ears. Correct eye. Moved out well.

German Spitz Klein – Open Dog (3, 0)

1st Wrights CH Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy (Imp) White dog presented in excellent condition with super correct wedge shaped head of excellent proportions, correct oval eyes with dark pigment and neat well set ears. When I put my hands on this dog I began to appreciate that his abundance of coat can misled the eye. He has excellent overall balance with exceptionally good conformation, with a compact body, stands 4-square. Good tail carriage, well boned. Shown in firm condition with good muscle tone. On the move was absolutely sound away and towards. Exhibiting exceptional reach and drive in his side gait. CC & BOB and Group 1.

2nd Sermans Ch. Rochedo Bill The Badger By Tymy. Different in type to one. B/W particolour, substantial male. Correct wedge shaped head with dark oval eyes and good pigment. Well set neat ears. Good tail carriage, would prefer slightly more layback of shoulder. Moved with purpose. Lacking a bit in undercoat today and preferred head of 1. RDCC

3rd Highmoors Printzagems Zak Icelett

German Spitz Klein – GCDorB (1, 0)

1st Trendle’s Lusam Toodle Pip. Wolfsable bitch. Moved out well with good reach and drive. Neat straight front. Compact in body. Smaller in head proportions. Neat well shaped ears. Well plumed tail.

German Spitz Klein – Puppy Bitch (1, 0)

1st Bradbury’s Oberitz Topsy Turvy For Wychlea. Black, 8 month old. Quality bitch. Epitomises femininity. Good bone for size, with a pretty head of good proportions. Neat well set ears, correct eye. Good front with adequate layback of shoulder, good hindquarters moved out well with purpose. To be slightly critical, would prefer body length just a tad shorter. She has a bright future for sure. RBCC.

German Spitz Klein – Junior Bitch (3 ,0)

1st Scott’s Jayfeather Busy Bee Black bitch, up to size. Nice head proportions, would prefer ears closer set. Okay in front. Needs to mature in body and movement.

2nd Bamford’s Applebanks April Showers At Hazdawn. B/W particolour. Smaller made than 1. Well coated with neat ears and good eye. Needs to firm in front and behind.

German Spitz Klein – Limit Bitch (2,0)

1st Serman’s Wychlea Lady In The Mirror By Tymy. Black bitch with good head proportions. Neat ears and correct eye shape though would prefer colour a tad darker. Presented in good coat of correct texture. Would prefer a shade more bone. Moved out well.
