BORDER COUNTIES GUNDOG CLUB

26TH JANUARY 2014

ESS. P.(2) 1. Roqfolly Bellissima Via Bordacity BPIB. 2. Roqfolly Gallette. I found it very difficult to separate these 2 lovely girls; no surprise then to find that they are litter mates from this very good kennel. Both have excellent breed type presenting the raciness that sets this breed apart from the rest of the spaniel family. Lengthy necks, big ribs and stand on good bone and feet. Just preferred the head and expression of 1.

J. (1) 1. Feorlig Quiz. Another puppy but not as forward as the other 2. Balanced head with square finish to muzzle, excellent forehand with plenty of heart room, good return of upper arm but would like more spring of rib. Ample turn of stifle. Coat a little coarse.

Y. (1) 1. Rosannoch Fortuna JW. A lovely type of bitch presented in stunning coat and condition. Presents a clean, flowing outline, classic head and low set ears. True front, good depth of brisket and big ribs. In the challenge I preferred the hindquarters of the open winner.

G. (1) 1. Bordacity by Request at Potrail. Broader in skull than I would like but has good depth of muzzle with square finish and wide nostrils. Straight in front with good bone and well rounded feet. Ribs could be bigger but has excellent 2nd thigh. Moved rather close behind.

O. (2) 1. Petranella Perfickly Frank with Dexbenalla JW ShCM. Mature male presented in good coat and displaying a strong outline free from exaggeration. I would prefer him with a bit less skull but he has the classic almond shaped eyes that give this breed its kind expression. Deep through the brisket with plenty of heart room, well ribbed up, muscular loin, wide quarters BOB. Preferred his head and eye over 2. Rossanoch Ansuz

Italian Spinone. J (2) 1. Crieda Eagle with Sophalba. Upstanding o/r dog, robust and square, divergent head planes, short, strong neck, good forehand with plenty of dog in front. Deep brisket, big ribs with evident break and strong powerful rear. Moved well. BPIB and BPIS. 2. Corrielochan Athena

O (2) Liatch Mister Mister with Bessalone. Loved this w/o for size and no mistaking his type, presents a classic outline with the unique Spinone topline. Correct head planes, oval skull, dewlap present, beautiful crest to the neck, wide at shoulders and big, open ribs. Strong loin, tail set correct and moved with typical Spinone trot. To be hypercritical I would like more turn of stifle but his soundness and type outweigh this. BOB and Group 3. Preferred his head and overall substance to that of 2. Hastabbi Devon Magic for Oaklaw JW
