Huge thanks to all who entered, to the committee for giving me my first, very enjoyable, CC appointment in Danes and for such a well organised show, with special thanks to my expert stewards Tony & Julie Schaanning-Ling for keeping things running so smoothly. Out of a lovely entry of 90 with 13 absentees I found one level bite and one wry, all had super temperaments with only two being a little shy. A few harlequins were not as cleanly marked as I would expect in a championship show ring and some had excessive haws, two having almost one third of their eyes covered.

MPD (5/1) 1. Drew & Drews Lindeefay Heartbreaker. Sturdy fawn boy 8 months old with a smart head, dark tight eyes & correct mouth. Balanced in body with a filled front, good top line and good anglulation. Moved out well. 2. Colletts Foaldown Moonlight Sonata. 8 month blue boy, a little narrower than 1, with correct mouth, drop of lip, reachy neck, good top line and angulation. 3. Calchas Willobee Wiseman

PD (3) 1. Webb & Morgan-Evans Vanmore Stop and Stare at Castleon. His name said it all as this showy fawn lad, with excellent conformation, held his neat head high on the longest of necks, finishing his career in the puppy classes to go BPD BPIB & WPG3. Having a correct mouth, dark mask and tight feet he displayed the happiest temperament as he wagged his tail while covering the ground with the smoothest movement. 2. Hursts Bourntwyn Greatest Day. Another spectacular dark masked fawn boy of 11 months, showing his socks off in the extreme heat. Super masculine head, narrow throughout with correct mouth and good drop of lip, elegant neck flowing seamlessly into well laid shoulders. Plenty of substance and another good mover. I’m sure these two will be swapping places throughout their show careers. 3. Dewanes Alsphuzazz Extra Esteem

JD(3) 1. Roans Carbarline Real Love. I ‘really loved’ this 12 ½ month big black masked fawn lad, behaving impeccably at his first show. With filled front, good straight bone and tight feet, correct angles and nice croup, he presented a super shape. Correct mouth, muscled and in lovely condition, he moved out very well. 2. Booth & Skinners Roucandane the Witchdoctor with Socar. Another handsome black masked fawn of 18 months with correct mouth and masculine head, ears nicely set, muscular crested neck, plenty of bone, short coupled with depth of brisket and neat tuck up. Good lay of shoulder and turn of stifle enabling good movement. Just needs a little more confidence to shine. 3. Bells Darlou Degrande Finale.

YD(7) 1. Barratts Rioco Endearing. Certainly endeared himself to me with his dark eyed gentle expression on the smartest of heads with correct mouth, good head planes, broad black muzzle and strong jaw line. Fawn half-brother to number 2 in the previous class, slightly longer in the body, having a similarly powerful reachy neck and smooth transitions into shoulders and throughout. Lovely shape on the stand presenting an image of strength and elegance with good tuck up and rise over the loin. Strong muscled hindquarters, he is maturing nicely, with his head held high on the move Pleased to award him RDCC 2. Chappells Ch Selmalda Koochie Ryder. Shown in immaculate condition this, soon to be out of yearling, fawn lad was a pleasure to go over. Correct mouth, marginally broader in topskull and more compact than 1, but equal in stature presenting power breadth and depth. No surprise that he has done so well. 3. Gough & Gormans Joopstar the Viscount.

PGD (6) 1.Prices Leamap Chivas Regal JW. The first of 4 quality litter brother and sisters that I went over and placed. 22 months blue with good head planes, a tight dark eye and correct mouth. Very solid and muscled with balanced outline. Powerful and steady on the move. 2. Middletons Leirumdane Mea Fortuna for Dornoir. Although res. in the previous class this cleanly marked harly boy deserved his placing here. A strong head without being coarse, correct mouth, good drop of lip and lovely long neck. At 21 months this large framed boy is still developing. He improves every time I see him. 3. Tempests Sharandanes Tempest Pride for Adoreadane

LD (9/2) 1.Mcguinness Eddanes Rule the World Dinahtron. 22 month rich fawn lad having correct mouth, pleasing head and expression, although I would prefer a darker eye. A large well filled frame with pleasing top line and rise over the loin, superbly balanced and impressive side on, continuing to impress on the move, coming and going. Worthy winner of a quality class 2. Jacobs Vanmore Never Say Never to Kazabbie. A beautifully chiselled head on this 2 ½ yr old brindle boy having a correct mouth, nice drop of lip and good ear set. Elegant neck, nice lay of shoulder with well filled front and deep brisket. Good top line and tuck up with well turned stifle and nicely muscled second thigh. Moved well. 3. Peppers Leamap Black Sabbath with Sarawen.

OD (9/2) 1.Hurst & Armours Ch Garsak Sir Fernando. Took my eye instantly. This handsome, almost 5 year old, fawn lad with black mask and dark eye, performs every time I have seen him and didn’t let his handler down today in the scorching heat. Correct mouth in this attractive masculine head with correct head planes and narrow throughout when viewed from the front. Gentle yet alert expression with ears held up or down. Super crested neck with plenty of breadth and substance throughout his body. The most elegant, gentle giant who carried on showing and moving beautifully in the group. So proud to award him his 13th DCC and BOB 2. Giffords Highesteem lLoch Song at Danetime 2 ¾ year old dark brindle boy having correct mouth and dark tight eyes. Neat ears on nice head carried well on his elegant neck. Great depth of brisket balanced by well filled front and nice tuck up. Would like more second thigh but moved out well. 3. Laidlaws Ch. Kantalar My Simple Heart

VD/B (1) 1. King & Dolbys Ch Foaldown Secret Love with Eppwood. A credit to his owners and breeder Mrs L Collett. This 8 year old still handsome fawn boy can still hold his own in the ring. No sagging or lethargy to be seen as he held his head high and showed the crowd, to great applause, what movement is all about.

MPB (7/2) 1.Bishtons Jaydania Sadie Frost. This 7 month sweet faced fawn baby girl with super black mask, dark expressive eyes and wrinkled forehead, lovely broad nose, muzzle and correct mouth, really tugged at my heartstrings. Solid yet feminine throughout with lovely bone and pleasing to the eye. Very balanced for such a youngster and moved around the ring beautifully. BPB 2. Pococks Tamzdane Peanut Butter Me Up Super 8 month harly girl, well marked with clean white underground and eyes like melted ice pools. The prettiest of heads with neat black ears and correct mouth. Good front, straight flat bone and tight feet, good angulation and top line with rise over the loin and lovely balanced movement. 3. Henshalls Calchas Wincy Willis.

PB (4) 1. Morgan-Evans Vanmore Eye Catching. Litter sister to my BPD & BPIB with exactly the same attributes but as feminine as she should be. Correct mouth and head planes, exuding elegance as she showed off her long neck and lovely angles, parading around the ring mirroring her brother. 2. Warings Ravendane Queen of Darkness for Elleyenda. Especially well marked mantle girl of 8 months with clean white neck and shining solid mantle body. Correct mouth in smart narrow head, having well set ears and reachy neck. Nothing overdone but plenty to like and will be interesting to see how she develops. 3. Pococks Peanut Butter Me Up.

JB (6/1) 1.Booth & Skinners Roucandane the Sorceress with Socar. Litter sister to 2nd in JD. A rich fawn girl having strength and body yet still retaining elegance and femininity. Expressive head with correct mouth and equal in breadth throughout, broad muzzle with ridge over her nose, nice drop of lip, dark eyes and neat ears. Crested neck flowed seamlessly into a good lay of shoulder, level top line and rise over the loin. Nicely turned stifle and muscular second thigh. In hard condition presenting a pleasing outline in the stand while covering the ground with ease. 2. Stemps Zefather’s Against All Odds of Mydane. 18 month fawn girl of beautiful proportion and poise. Feminine head with good planes, nice square muzzle, correct mouth, dark tight eyes and well set ears. Excellent and very showy throughout, moving with drive, just a little finer than 1. 3. Burtons Ravendane Enchanting Dream at Elbarevol.

YB (9/2) 1.Waltons Ravendane Rose Liqueur. I think we all strive to breed our danes to be as close to the breed standard as possible and this 19 month blue girl, had she been any colour, fits the description. ‘Very muscular, strongly though elegantly built, with look of dash and daring, of being ready to go anywhere and do anything. Head and neck carried high, tail in line with back, or slightly upwards, but never curled over hindquarters. Elegance of outline and grace of form most essential.’ A neat headpiece with correct mouth and nice drop of lip, well filled cheeks, tight eyes and well placed triangular ears. Clean neck, narrow and beautifully arched at its crest, broadening into muscular well laid shoulders. Great depth of brisket, filled front, good top line held on the move and rise over the loin, would have liked a little more tuck up. Very muscular hindquarters enabling powerful and even movement. Her strength combined with femininity gave her the BCC . 2. Agnews Selmalda Love Rescue Me. A striking 19 month brindle bitch who was very pleasing to go over, since sometimes the stripes can distract from the shape beneath. A good head with correct mouth and tight dark eyes. Ears neatly folded and a super long, well used, crested neck. Shoulders sloping back into deep well sprung ribs, good tuck up, slight rise over her loin, good tail set and smoothly turned stifle. Very balanced and in hard condition. Moved out well and when recalled back in to the bitch line up demanded the RBCC. 3. Prices Leamap Iron Maiden JW.

PGB (11/1) 1. Peppers Leamap Black Caviar at Sarawen. Nicely constructed totally black bitch, litter sister to 1st in PGD, shown in gleaming condition. Good head, teeth, drop of lip and tight dark eyes. Ears set well with strong neck, filled front and good depth of brisket. Correct angulation, flat straight bone and nice tight feet. Plenty of substance presenting a compact shape of pleasing proportions. Moved out powerfully and smoothly. 2. Waltons Ravendane Wizadora 2 ½ yr old harly bitch with correct head and mouth, broad muzzle and square drop of lip. Long neck flowing into strong shoulders having good front and rear angulation Looked very balanced in the stand, showed and moved well, but would have liked a cleaner underground. 3. Grays Jaydania Tenna See.

LB (13/2) 1. Chappells Selmalda the Kiss JW. Winner of a smashing class this very solid and well balanced fawn girl is litter sister to 2nd in YD. Crested showy neck held a well chiselled head of pleasing proportions with correct mouth and strong jaw line, well set ears, a lovely dark mask and tight dark eyes. Great depth of brisket and filled front, good lay of shoulder. Legs having plenty of bone with good tight feet a well turned stifle and powerful rear end producing a driving gait. Shown in super hard condition and just missed out on cards today. 2. Jones Ravendane Expression of Sapeck. 4 yr old harly bich with a lovely all over shape, lovely temperament and kind expression. Slightly longer in body than 1, beautifully angulated front and rear with the tightest of feet. Correct mouth, broad muzzle with good drop of lip and ears set high. Elegant neck with smooth transition into her shoulders and flowing lines. Moved very well. 3. Hindles Hecklehaze Lady Esther of Pendayne.

OB (3/1) 1. Pococks Ch Tamzdane Jamaican Me Crazy JW Sh. CM. Two very special girls in this class, both well deserving of the honours they have accrued. This 3 ½ yr old well marked harly girl has the cleanest of undergrounds. A most attractive head of pleasing proportions having a correct mouth, well filled cheeks and neat drop of lip, wide bridge of nose with slight ridge, held high on her clean white neck and well defined crest, set off by neat alert ears. Deep brisket nicely tucking up under her belly with a strong top line and muscled hindquarters. A joy to watch her powering, almost gliding, around the ring. 2. Bithells Ch Bourtwyn in My Dreams JW. Gentle expression on this sound 3 ½ yr old fawn girl with dark eyes, ears and mask. Ears set neatly and used well on her chiselled feminine head with correct mouth and nicely proportioned foreface. A strong neck blending into a good lay of shoulders, filled front, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Firm loin and top line with muscular second thigh and turn of stifle. Moved around the ring powerfully and smoothly.
