Southern Counties Canine Association

Breed: Eurasier

Critique: Southern Counties Canine Association – 30th May 2014

Eurasier:

Was looking forward to judging Eurasiers and had some nice dogs today but was disappointed with the preponderance of ‘light’ temperaments. I realise that this can be a reserved breed but should not be nervous or backing off. This does need to be taken seriously, especially in a breed developed to be a true ‘companion’ dog.

Puppy dog: no entries

Junior Dog: (2,2)

Post Graduate Dog: no entries

Limit Dog: no entries

Open Dog: (2, 1) 1. Hopkinson – Albionspitz Kedar of Moongazie. 4 year old male with pleasing headpiece – flat skull and good ear placement. Quality coat of correct texture. Tailset and carriage good. Sufficient bone and correct oval feet. Overall presented a nicely balanced outline. Steady on the move. BD/BOS

Puppy Bitch: (2,1) 1. Parkinson – Lumikedon Dumledee at Kaydanmy (imp Fin). 8 month old. Very feminine baby. Lovely body proportions with good front and rear angulation. Profuse coat. Very unsettled, but moved OK as she relaxed more. BP

Junior Bitch: (2,1) 1. Hatch – Caromarda Lets Dance for Albionspitz. Really liked this 17 mo bitch. Good head, lovely neat ears; overall body proportions gave very pleasing outline. Coat of correct texture and rich red. Not a big girl but a nice package. A little unsettled. Moved well.

Post Graduate Bitch: (1) 1. McKean – Silmoralbions Firework at Yawren. Loved the head and expression of this 2 year old girl. In full coat of good quality. Not a big girl, but sufficient in all departments and moved well outside. Not happy with tent which unsettled her.

Limit Bitch (2,0) Two nice girls. 1. Reynolds – Albionspitz Beloved. Feminine bitch with good head and ears with correct oval eye and very good pigment. Quality coat, presented well. Correct outline and moved soundly. BB. BOB. 2. McKean – Albionspitz Darkness at Yawren ShCM. Similar outline to 1, with good angulation and balance. Correct coat of quality. Preferred the head of 1, who was also slightly stronger on the move.

Open Bitch (2,0) 1. Hopkinson – Silmoralbion’s Callidora at Moongazie. 6 year old bitch who was very sound. Good bone and oval feet. Head a little overworked, but nice eye shape. Good harsh coat and overall good balanced outline. Moved out well. RBB. 2. Willy & Nichols – Gileyna Berry Brite Bitten. Very pretty 3 year old bitch - very showy and striking – again a little strong in head and would have liked less stop. Slightly longer in loin, but strong. Good coat, well presented . Moved well.
