Golden Retrievers

I was very pleased with the quality of my entry in particular the puppy class with some very promising puppies coming through. The first three impressed me immensely and I am sure they will change places many times in the future. All dogs were presented in lovely clean condition despite of the weather and as usual temperaments were exemplary.

Puppy 12 (6abs)

1st Leonard’s Wynrita Hocus Pocus

Caught my eye on my first look around the ring and kept coming back to her for more. Liked her a lot for her overall balance and lovely outline. Feminine head with kind dark eye and pigment with ears well set creating a sweet expression. Excellent reach of neck flowing into well laid shoulders and upper arm with level topline and tailset. Lovely straight forelegs and neat feet. Short coupled body of good depth with ribs well sprung. Correct rear angulation and hocks well let down. Moved out freely and true placing feet correctly. Together with her quality mid gold coat completed a lovely balanced picture. Delighted to award her BP in strong completion.

1st Pickard’s Lovissa Chance Of Diamonds JW

Lovely young male who hits all of the right buttons who was unlucky to meet the winner of puppy. Standing foresquare this young mid gold coated male shows correct leg to body ratio. Beautiful yet masculine head with lovely dark eye and pigment. Good length of neck on well laid back shoulders with straight well boned forelegs and tight catlike feet. Good depth of chest, spring of rib and short coupled body, lovely turn of stifle with angulation complimenting front. Shown in beautiful coat and condition. Got his act together in this class and moved out more strongly covering the ground well.

Post Graduate 10 (4abs)

1st Hill’s Drumkilty Take The High Road To Sandaula JW

A lovely quality boy who already quite mature at just over 2 years still has plenty more to give and with luck should reach the top spot.  Immacuately shown and presented pale coated boy showing a lovely clean outline with correct balance. Lovely masculine head which is not over done in any way enhanced by kind dark eye and pigment. With a strong, clean and muscular neck of good length he excels in front angulation with well laid back shoulders and good length of upper arm. Straight well boned forelegs and tight cat like feet and well upon pasterns. Deep through the heart with good spring of rib and short coupled body. Rear angulation of equal merit to front with straight hocks when viewed from the rear. His strong and muscular condition enabled him to move out freely with a lovely length of stride easily covering the ground and keeping a lovely head and tail carriage. Pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Hammond’s Merimoor Malarky

3rd Leonard’s Thornywait Manhattan Glitz At Wynrita

Limit 6 (3abs)

1st Leonard’s Thornywait Manhattan Glitz At Wynrita

Smaller and more compact mid gold bitch who was unlucky to meet previous class winners. Sweet head with kindly expression and dark eye. Good reach of neck placed on well-constructed shoulders, good forechest and straight legs. Nice spring of rib and short coupled body. Correct bend of stifle with strong rear quarters. Easy mover with good forehand extension holding her topline and tail set level at all times.

I make no apologies for admitting that this boy is one of my favourite and now at 6 years is coming into his best. Lovely masculine head with good expression, ears well set and dark eye. Good length of neck on well laid back shoulders with good upper arm standing on straight forelegs and tight feet. Deep mature chest and spring of rib and short in couplings. Good turn of stifle with straight well let down hocks. Shown in beautiful dark gold wavy coat. Moved out well from strong quarters. RBOB
