Dukeries (Notts) Gundog Club

10th July 2012

English Setters

Junior. (1) 1. Spencer’s Richecca Seize the Day for Sorbus. 14 mths BB & tan dog of good proportions, lean head, nicely arched neck, ample spring of rib and depth of brisket. Silky coat, moved happily with lashing tail.

Post Grad (3) 1. Bates’ Valsett Starlite Ruby Blush at Tudorfield. Beautiful orange bitch presenting a clean outline. Feminine head with soft expression, long, muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Deep ribs, short back, strong quarters and short, strong hocks. Moved with style to take BOB. Preferred her tail set and hindquarters to that of 2. Armstrong-Rogers’ Beechanger Duke of Argos 3. Welburn’s Oshowa Blazing Summer

Large Munsterlanders

Post Grad (1) 1. Robins’ Albadhu Talk to the Paw Dha Destanli. Very typey bitch with a beautiful head and expression. Good width to chest with pronounced pro-sternum, excellent lay back of shoulders and reach of neck. Well ribbed up, fabulous muscle tone, moved on an easy gait with superb foreword reach. I liked her very much.

Open (3) 1. Waterworth’s Racris Freya. This bitch has the most divine head and expression, superb angulation fore and aft and tight, well padded feet. Short, strong back, ample spring of rib, well muscled loin and excellent tail set. Moved fluidly with drive and carried her tail well. Gave her handler a hard time but her qualities shone through. In the challenge preferred her turn of stifle to the Post Grad bitch. BOB. 2. Ogle’s Raycris Quest for Fame 3. Waters’ Tarkanya Lytas Llewellyn

Pointers. A fabulous entry of championship show quality. I was spoiled for choice.

Puppy (1) 1. Adams’ Ansona Peter Pan. Quality 8 mth b & w dog presenting a strong and balanced outline. Good forehand and long, muscular neck, plenty of bone and substance, wide quarters. True when viewed from behind, good feet. BP.

Post Grad (5) 1. Harrison’s Millpoint Heatwave. Beautifully balanced b&w bitch who excelled in shoulder placement and return of upper arm. Plenty of heart room, deep brisket, strong, powerful quarters. Moved well but a bit untidy in front. 2. Dunn’s Meadowpoint Talihina Sky 3. Nicholls’ Stonesview Roche Abbey

Open (8). A super class and an honour to judge. 1. Evans & Pavey’s Joneva Diamond in the Rough. Typifies the breed standard with his strong and symmetrical appearance. Handsome head with kind eye, plenty of dog in front, flowing outline giving the impression of speed and endurance. Short, hard coat, very well muscled and moved on a long stride with typical bee sting tail. BOB & Res BIS. 2. Evans & Pavey’s Joneva Hazy Hazy Dream 3. Adams’ Ansona Simple Simon JW Sh CM.
