Seaham & District Canine Society

Thank you to the committee of Seaham & D.C.S for inviting me to judge at this friendly, well run show. There were some lovely toy dogs, however I think some could do with a little training to reach their full potential.

AV Toy Puppy

Difficult class to assess as both were babies who played up their handlers, though were thoroughly enjoying their day out!

1st Pott’s SAMARANDAS SORCEROR TO ADREEAM

7 month Black Griffon. Lively and alert boy who showed well. Very confident. Correct harsh, wiry coat. Strong level topline which he held on the move. Nice small feet. Well set tail.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Open

1st Davison’s ABBETHWAY MONTGOMERY

Maculine tri boy of 18 months. Beautiful soft head with large dark eyes. High set ears with plenty of feather. Nicely arched neck leading on to a level back. Movement was difficult to assess due to his naughtiness, but when he showed glimpses of behaving, his movement was free with good drive from behind. A very nice dog, who played his handler up unfortunately.

King Charles Spanial Open

1st Maddison’s ALAMBRA RICH RUBY

3 year old Ruby dog. Masculine domed head with dark wide set eyes. Good low set ears. Well laid back shoulders. Excellent deep chest and good short back. Moved well with drive. Handled well.

Japanese Chin Open

1st Holcroft’s SLEEPYHOLLOW NERO

Black and white, 18 months old boy. Presented beautifully with long, soft straight coat. Broad skull, large nostrils, and very short, well cushioned muzzle. Good tail carriage. In the group, just felt that he toed in on the move.

Papillon Graduate

1st Westwood’s DARLEAIR MY WAY

15 month old feminine bitch. Friendly and lively girl who was very alert. Nice head with slightly rounded skull. Fine muzzle with well defined stop. Nice dark eyes and large rounded ears. Good length of neck. Level topline. Fabulous bend of stifle. Really liked this girl. BOB & Group 3.

Papillon Open

1st Westwood CLOONSHEE’S CHRYSALIS AT DARLEAIR

21 months old, masculine boy. Another friendly and alert dog from this kennel. Good head with slightly rounded skull. Dark eyes, good ears. Moved well. Seemed to really be enjoying his day out.

Pug Open

1st Cairns’ CERANG ROUGH ‘N’ TUMBLE

Square and cobby fawn dog. 15 months old who really owned the ring. Large round head with good short, blunt muzzle. Correct ears. Beautiful arched neck that lead onto the most level of topline, which he held when he powered round the ring. Good wide chest and well ribbed. Strong legs and lovely bend of stifle. A real showman who pushed hard for the group. BOB & Group 2.

Chihuahua L/C Open

1st Patterson/Murray’s BRAMERITA ROAD RUNNER AT BRATILDA

2 year old, black and cream dog. Presented in good condition. Good domed head with short muzzle. Fabulous large, well set ears. Nice arch of neck. Level topline stacked and on the move. Handled realty well to get the best out of him. BOB.

Chihuahua S/C Open

1st Kinghorn’s DIAMONCHI RED DIESEL

Red male of 3 years. Real masculine boy who had great ring presence. Lovely temperament. Good round eyes and excellent large ears. Nice arch of neck and level topline. Brisk movement with excellent drive from strong quarters. Presented in excellent condition and handled well to get the best out of him BOB & Group 3.

1st Guy’s DONZEATA ROYAL STAR

6 month old puppy who showed like a veteran. Ultra smart little rough coat dog with a real show boy attitude. Good harsh coat. Handsome head with excellent dark pigment. Wide muzzle and good lips. Dark eye, good small high set ears. Lovely length of neck leading on to a level topline. Well turned stifle. Nice free movement with excellent drive.Very well handled. A star of the future who will no doubt go on to great things. Well-deserved Group 1 and I was delighted to see him go RBIS & BPIS.

1st Dillon’s COLLOONEY BILLY THE WHIZZ

A very raw baby who oozes potential. Just 6 months old and a little unsure of himself, but he still managed to put in a sound performance. Beautiful lean head with excellent expression. Lovely dark eye and good small ears. Elegantly arched neck. Deep brisket and firm back. Sympathetically handled. Puppy Group 1

Whippet Open

1st Johnston’s COLLOONEY TRICKY DICKY JW SHCM

2 year old brindle dog who was handled perfectly to get the very best out of him. Lovely size and well balanced. Perfect temperament. Good head. Bright oval eyes. Good ears. Lovely length of neck. Strong muscular shoulders. Deep brisket with good heart room. Well sprung ribs. Strong hindquarters made him power round the ring. A joy to watch. BOB & Group 1
