Alaskan Malamutes

Firstly I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge at this show. The main concerns that arose during this appointment were incorrect bites and dogs overweight.

Junior: 8 entries 2 absent

A nice junior class containing some promising puppies that just need to settle on the move.

1st – Icescape Catch Me If You Can. A very nice 15 month black & white bitch. Correct coat although a little sparse. Moved true and held her top-line on the move. Correct head, bite and muzzle. Nice dark pigmentation. Good angulations throughout. Good tail & ear set.

2nd – Icescape Best Kept Secret. Good strong 15 month boy of substance. Impressive head, although carrying an ear injury which spoilt his expression a little. Powerful, true movement and kept his top-line. Good tail set & bite. Good length of body. Good front & rear.

3rd – Austmans Darkness & Light BP. Lovely 9 month black & white puppy. Excellent substance, head coat and tail set. A little too much weight, but forgivable in a puppy. Good pigmentation.

Post Graduate: 5 entries 2 absent

The weakest class of the day.

1st – Cinelli Delta Breezer Over Packice. Nice 2 yr bitch. Good head and ear set. Correct coat and tail set. A little lethargic on the move, but true movement.

2nd – Wolfraven Raises The Stakes. Lovely 20 month boy of excellent substance. Excellent head, ear & tail set. Good straight front. Nice rear. Moved true and kept his top-line. Correct coat & bite.

3rd – Dankatchas Shilling At Celticice

Open: 9 entries 3 absent

A very strong class and all 6 dogs present could have been contenders on their day.

1st – Snowolf Chicago Sal For Wolfraven. BOB A very nice 5 yr bitch. Excellent substance, head, ear & tail set. Although a little longer in body, perfectly acceptable in a bitch. Good pigmentation. Correct coat & bite. Moved true with ease and held her top-line. Good angulations. Was very pleased to see her make the short cut in the BIS ring.

2nd – Snowolf Long Island T. RBOB Lovely 2 yr dog. A little lighter on bone than I would prefer, but his attributes were many. Best top-line of the day. Moved true when not playing up his handler. Correct neck , head, bite, ear and tail set. Good coat & pigmentation. Good straight front & rear. Good angulations throughout.

3rd – Snowolf Winter Reflection Of Icescape.
