Irish Setters

A good entry for my first judging appointment. So many appealed standing but did

not move very well. Temperaments were excellent and there were no gay tails.

P (9, 0) 1 Harris & Edwins Konakakela Sara Lena, BP 11 months, appealed for her

breed type. Pretty long lean feminine head with good stop, dark well shaped eyes

and low set ears. Length of neck, fine, sloping shoulders, forechest and depth of

chest were all pleasing, Gently sloping topline, good spring of ribs and good quarters

which were well muscled. Feet could have been neater. Although she was naughty

she demonstrated ground covering movement in the class but moved much better in

the challenge.

2 Allcock’s Wildaire Western Delight for Brandyweir

3 Nimse’s Enryb New Moon at Tannymac

J (5, 0) 1 Curtis’s Wyldfire Rioghanach, Won this class with ease. Very pretty head.

Her dark eyes and low set ears contributing to her soft expression. Straight front,

well angulated shoulders and upper arm. Deep in the chest. Lovely topline and

tailset, enough bend of stifle, tight small feet. With her dark gleaming coat so

characteristic of Intrepid’s progeny she presented a lovely picture but today she was

moving slightly close behind.

2 Seek’s Stemars Smoky Opal

3 Bye’s Bluebyeyou Mystic Equiste

G (15, 8) 1 Price’s Severnvale Pretty in Pink BOB The first three in this class all

appealed for their sound, driving, ground covering movement. 1 impressed being so

well balanced and not overdone in any way. Head feminine with kind expression.

Neck, shoulders and topline to the end of her tail all fit together smoothly. Tightly

tucked in elbows and well off for bone, small tight, well padded feet. Moved so

soundly with ease as would be expected with such good confirmation.

2 Roberts and Prangle’s Colanme Red Hot Mercedes

3 Budgell’s Sowerhill Sheenagh with Robbielene

O (13, 6) 1 Needs and Ginger’s Thendara Just Lookin at Stourford RBOB Striking

racy dog, lovely outline standing and on the move. Masqueline but refined head,

good finish to foreface, good stop, raised brows and long low set ears. Lengthy

arched neck flowed into well angulated shoulders, deep chest, gently sloping topline

and well muscled back end, good tailset. Great ring presence, showing lovely Irish

character in his exuberant but sound movement with lovely tail carriage and action.

Beautiful coat and feathering. He has matured slowly but is now filling out his large

frame and is best is still to come.

2 Curtis’s Wyldfire Enya

3 Price’s Severnvale It’s My Delight
