Gloucester & District Canine Society

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge such a well-run show and for my steward John for keeping the ring running so smoothly throughout the judging. I really enjoyed my day and so pleased with the quality of entry. Thank you to all exhibitors for accepting the decisions on the day.

Flat Coats

Special Yearling (5,2) Lewis’s LLantrussa Tea For Two At Fairwinds, 22 month old bitch, so balanced in outline moderate angulated well up on her legs. Feminine head leading down to well laid shoulders, well off for bone. Strong topline which was maintained stood and on the move. Moved effortlessly. BOB. 2 Stevenson’s Feldkirk Rose N’Roses 6 month old bitch, still very raw but a nice baby. Correct head and expression, racy well made angulation. Good topline and tailset. Moved well. BP. 3 Simons’ Coedylan Bambino Caro.

Open (7,1) 1 Staff’s Bonnyhilbrae Royal Flush, Masculine dog with everything in the right place. Correct head and expression, well muscled neck leading on to nice shoulder placement, well made front assembly. Moved with drive and reach. 2 Eggington & Davis’ Go With The Flow Dynamic Faithful (IMP NED) Pretty bitch with a clean balanced outline, had a super topline which was maintained standing and on move. Moved well. 3 Stevenson’s Bonnyhilbrae Calypso.

Goldens

Puppy (8,2) 1 Haines’ Leighsham Tullamore 10 month old dog, masculine head with kind expression, nice length of neck leading down to well placed shoulders. Matching angulation in front and rear giving a nice balanced outline. Well off for bone. Good topline and correct tailset and carriage. Moved well. BP. 2 Clarkson’s Drumkilty Venetian Glass a pretty well made cream bitch, beautiful outline, catlike feet and good topline and tailset which she maintained on the move. Moved well. 3 Foreman’s Ambersun Heart Of Oak.

Junior (5,2) 1 Clunie’s Warrentor Bold As Brass, 15 month old dark golden boy who fits his name commanding attention in the ring, free standing stood 4 square. Masculine head with kind expression, a good length of neck leading to well placed shoulders, level topline which is maintained even on the move. Well angled behind with well let down hocks. Easy free flowing movement with good power and drive. Pleased to award him BOB pleased to hear he won group 3. 2 Hewittson’s Seruilia Shining Star, A nice bitch shown in hard condition, pretty head with correct expression, well angulated and super topline. Moved really well. Was lacking in coat slightly today. 3 Ives’ Belsamina Bellini.

Post Graduate (5,2) 1 Clunie’s Warrentor Bold As Brass 2 Hewittson’s Seruilia Shining Star 3 Foreman’s Ambersun Heart Of Gold.

Open (7,1) 1 Clunie’s Warrentor Bold As Brass 2 Foreman’s Ambersun Lost In Music, lots to like about this bitch, Pretty head with kind expression, good length of neck leading to well placed shoulders. Well angulated and boned. Occasionally lost her topline on the move when getting excited. Moved well. 3 Hewittson’s Seruilia Shining Star

Labradors

Puppy (5,5) Headed by 3 exciting prospects, Hodges’ Naiken Glass Slippers, Pretty Choc bitch, pretty head and correct expression. Nice length of neck and well laid shoulders, so balanced both front and rear with correct amount of leg. Strong topline which was maintained. Was a little eratic on movement at first but when settled she moved well. BP. 2 Major-Harvey’s Floki Thejester In Linjor, yellow dog, with nice head and correct expression. Nicely angulated both front and rear, would like him to come up on his pasterns a bit more. Good topline and well wrapped tail. Moved well. 3 Coodes‘ Streamanda Balla Balla With Warringah.

Junior (5,2) 1 Major-Harvey’s Linjor Miss Jones, yellow bitch. Pretty head with intelligent expression. Well angulated and super topline which was maintained stood and on the move. In good coat and well wrapped tail. Moved well. 2 Glosmere

Ragamuffin, black dog with masculine head, nicely angulated and well boned, stood on good feet. Strong topline, well wrapped tail. Would like a bit more length of leg. Moved well. Mills’ Jaybec Winter Wispa.

Post Graduate (8,5) 1 Coode’s Warringah’s The Bluff JW, well made black dog with everything in the right place which is a picture of balance. Masculine head, with intelligent expression. Well angulated front and rear. Super topline maintained standing and on the move. Moved with reach and drive effortlessly. BOB & pleased to hear gundog group winner. 2 Major-Harvey’s Linjor Miss Jones. 3 Bentley’s Abbeysyead Puzzle

Open (1,4) 1Peggs’ Jancet Aurora yellow bitch, feminine head with kind expression, nicely angulated and good topline. In good coat, moved well.

Tollers

Junior (4,1) 1 Nevers’ Tollelkin Dream Cove At Sheldrake, well made dog with nice head. Nicely angulated front and rear. Correct topline. Well off for coat and moved well. 2 Rolf & Parker’s Tollpepper Echo’s Hope For Skysaria, pretty bitch which is well made all through. Feminine head with correct expression, moved well. Lacked in coat. 3 O’Reilly’s Tollelkin Dream Loch.

Post Graduate (3,2) 1 Rolf & Parker’s Tollpepper Echo’s Hope For SkySaria. 2 O’Reilly’s Kenynten Stream Song, pretty bitch with correct head and topline, moderately angulated. Handled very well and always at one with her young handler. 3 Elkin’s Tollelkin Dream Dancer.

Open (2,1) 1 Elkin’s Tollelkin Caife Americano well up for size male with good angulation. Correct head and expression. Well laid shoulders and super topline. Moved with purpose around the ring. BOB. 2 ShCh Eusanit Silvr Dream Machine, smaller dog in size to 1. Masculine head with nice expression and correct eye. Good topline which he maintained on the move. In a nice coat, moved ok. Lost out to 1 on movement.
