Crufts 2020 - Australian Cattle Dogs

It was an honour to judge this lovely breed that I have a passion for at this most prestigious show. A lovely quality entry made up of an overwhelming majority of continental exhibits. The majority were in good condition with all having good temperaments. My thanks to my efficient stewards, and to the exhibitors for the sporting way in which my decisions were received.

1st Jebson, Ch Austmans Finn McMissile, 7½ yrs quality blue male of good breed type, so well balanced throughout, lovely headpiece, excellent temperament, good mouth, ear well placed and alert at all times. Has good angles & proportions and was sound away & back, a steady side gait showing good reach & drive. Starting to show signs of his age in the back line, nevertheless a worthy winner today. BVIB

2nd Polleichtner, Ch Sawdust's In All Its Glory, 9 yrs another lovely male, similar to 1, but steeper in upper arm, lovely headpiece, good ears, strong neck into well laid shoulders, stood on good bone and feet. He was sound both ways but lacked the reach and drive of the winner.

3rd Doell, Int Ch Wild Desert Dingo's Living Legend, 9 yrs mottled blue, a tad on the heavy side and lacking firmness in elbows, that said he has a correct head, lovely temperament, good mouth, wide set ears, strong neck into well laid shoulders, steep upper arm not affording him the forward reach on the move.
