Bracco Italiano

Thank you to all the exhibitors today, it was a pleasure to be able to judge the breed again. Many years ago I was led to believe at a seminar that the breed was a very complicated breed, for me that statement was so very wrong. I often wonder why it was said like that in such a manner? Reading the standard and putting the dog in front of you allows you to understand the breed as an overall picture. Thank you once again and thank you to my stewards.

2. Bracco Italiano - Puppy Dog

1ST 17 - Bushwacker Don Juan (Mr A & Miss S Pipes & Groves) This young dog is so obviously built for power and I’m sure will be able to fulfil a day’s work without any effort at all. His head is so distinctive with the required chiselling under the eyes. At this age he actually told the handler what and how he wanted to move. His depth of chest is a pleasure to see no wonder he could move like he did. His side gait is wonderful so open and so free and effortless. Delighted to award him RBD and best puppy dog. As mentioned both youngster are a delight.

2ND 6 - Amestorah Razzle Dazzle (Ms D Hamlyn) He came into the ring a little unsure of surroundings, but with gentle judging and the handler allowing him to enjoy himself on the move his confidence increased very quickly. A lot to like about from his size and overall conformation so well balance. Love him.

4. Bracco Italiano - Post Graduate Dog

Entries: 3 Absentees: 2

1ST 16 - Bushwacker Demetrio (Mr A & Miss S Pipes & Groves) looking at my notes, I wrote very similar notations as I did for the Puppy dog, which isn’t surprising as they are both from the same dam. So very much a type in breeding. He has a correct outline and shape and well balanced. He moves so true fore and aft. But today for RBD the puppy out moved him in profile movement.

 5. Bracco Italiano - Open Dog

1ST 12 - Gunsyn Wave Runner in Brackenmist (Miss S & Mrs T Mcandrew & Boyles), sometimes a dog needs a little more of a softer approach by a judge, and today this dog was happy to receive it. He displays all the attributes that is required in the breed standard. His head is so classical, that being long and narrow, showing clean and lean cheeks. His expression displays softness and kindness, nothing appeared to be rushed in his mind. His body is almost square with strong long shoulders and so well-muscled. He moved so true and his side gait was a pleasure to see. Delighted to award him BOB

2ND 8 - Gunsyn Hottoddy (Mrs N Jackson) Displaying a true Bracco outline, so well balanced overall. Today I felt the winner had more positive front movement.

3RD 3 - Whitgun Renegade Master at Owlspoint JW (Mrs A & Miss N Bell & Maddox)

6. Bracco Italiano - Veteran Bitch

1ST 7 - Bushwacker Pietra (Ms D Hamlyn)Such a total biscuit enthusiast she certainly enjoyed her day. So full of quality, so feminine in overall appearance, but yet retains a full display of power and very noble in appearance. Her intelligence showed fully on the move with the added bonus of biscuits. BVIB

7. Bracco Italiano - Puppy Bitch

Entries: 4 Absentees: 2

1ST 10 - Solwaypoint Sunset (Mrs N Jackson) The breed is in great hands if the 2 puppies presented today are in anything to go by with the quality shown. I just loved her from her head to her tail. So well-built displaying so much potential for the future. She excelled in many ways but her movement especially her side gait was truly wonderful. Delighted to award her BBIB and I believe later she was short listed in the puppy group. Congratulations .

2ND 11 - Woodlandblue Mamma Mia at Talyfan (Mrs M Kestin) both handler and dog require more ring craft training and more socialising in order to gain more confidence. When this occurs I’m sure both of them will enjoy the day even better. Please keep going she is a quality bitch and so much promise.

8. Bracco Italiano - Junior Bitch

Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1ST 22 - Piccorino Peperoncina (Mrs A Worgan) She displayed a strong well balanced picture, standing almost square as required. So much to like about her from her head to her tail. Her movement was a pleasure to see especially her free flowing movement when seen in profile.

2ND 11 - Woodlandblue Mamma Mia at Talyfan (Mrs M Kestin) repeat.

9. Bracco Italiano - Post Graduate Bitch

1ST 20 - Gunsyn Hotpants (Mrs L & Mr P Thomas & Taylor) A quality bitch, presenting a wonderful picture of a the breed. Her head is classic with all the attributes one expects from this breed. However today I felt she need to display a little more enthusiasm to truly display the fabulous movement this breed provides. RBB.
