Spaniel (English Springer)

In some classes I was spoilt for choice delighted with my final winners congratulations everybody and thank you. I must say a huge congratulations to my excellent sporting stewards you were brilliant.

319. Spaniel (English Springer) - Veteran Dog

Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1ST 1312 - Westaway Dream Angus of Rosannoch (Imp Nor) (Mrs E Rose) The breed standard asks for a symmetrical dog, who is compact and active. And this is exactly what he is. His outline is so clean, his head and expression is so kind, soft and gentle. He moves so well and true. I was pleased to award him BV in breed.

320. Spaniel (English Springer) - Minor Puppy Dog

Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1ST 1327 - Cobhay Dashing Dandelion (Mrs J, Mrs D & Miss P Williams & Toublic) Pleasing 7 month old youngster, his head is a delight giving that required fluting that enhances the stop and expression. Moved collected for so young you will have so much fun with him.

322. Spaniel (English Springer) - Junior Dog

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 1281 - Calvdale with Respect (Mr & Mrs M Calvert) This youngster should have a very bright future in my opinion. His proportions and balance are so very true to the standard. He has a good length of leg as without this he wouldn’t have been able to display that true unique front action. His head and expression is wonderful and so well balanced. Delighted to award him the RDCC

2ND 1324 - More Than Amazing Wanna Be A Gangster at Spuffing (Mrs J Weyman) I was very impressed with the shape and finish on this youngster. From his head neck and shoulders he is lovely. And wow put your hands on him to feel that wonderful pro-sternum. He moved very well and I feel sure these two will change places on a regular basis.

 3RD 1326 - Kingsheath Moon Dance at Freworth (Mrs J V Whitworth)

323. Spaniel (English Springer) - Yearling Dog

Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1ST 1287 - Meadowdale Twix (Mr S & Mrs J Eyeington) Typical yearling dog, so well balanced overall with good expression. He moved with that special unique swing action in front, which he had to do due to the fact that he has one amazing fore chest which in some was sadly lacking today.

 324. Spaniel (English Springer) - Post Graduate Dog

Entries: 2 Absentees: 1

1ST 1323 - Eastfalla Sherlockholmes (Mrs H Warrener) smaller dog but still overall well balanced, his head is balanced to his body. Good bone and conformation. For me I would like to see a little more of him all over. He moved very well so true in both directions. So well presented.

325. Spaniel (English Springer) - Limit Dog

Entries: 7 Absentees: 4

1ST 1304 - Dexbenella Frilled to Bitz (Mrs Nj Morgans) Won this class on his classic front assembly, well balanced head, good shape and finish to muzzle nothing exaggerated. He moved well which won him the class.

2ND 1314 - Carlyquinn Captain Ross at Mujascal JW (Miss J A Such) a slightly heavier dog than winner, but goodness this dogs movement in profile was a pleasure to see. Presented in good coat and condition.

 3RD 1309 - Cherishym Dofida (Mr P & Mrs Y Richardson & Terry-Richardson)

326. Spaniel (English Springer) - Open Dog

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 1278 - Dk Ch(u) Sieger´s Easter Day Dkjuch Kbhjv21 Dkv22 23 Scjv21 Czjch Spkv22 Gbsv23 (Miss V Borregaard Madsen) All my training, watching and listening to breed experts have stressed over the years about the unique front swinging from elbow front action which typifies the breed. This dog certainly did just that. Yes there are things I would like to change but that goes for everything normally, however he is so sound in all departments, presented in wonderful condition he is upstanding as the breed is the leggiest of the spaniels, he is so well balanced and in proportion. When asked to move around the ring he owned it and my smile must have been very evident. Thank you for this and I was delighted to award him the DCC today.

2ND 1286 - Sh Ch Meadowdale Daisydale Lightning Bolt (Mr S & Mrs J Eyeington) This exhibitor must have been a little disappointed as I’ve shorted listed him in the gundog group last year at WELKS. My comments remain the same sound and so very impressive, built on a stronger frame. His head and expression is so very kind and pleasing. He is a pleasure to judge.

3RD 1280 - Sh Ch Calvdale Scaramouche Jones JW (Mr & Mrs M Calvert)

328. Spaniel (English Springer) - Minor Puppy Bitch

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0

1ST 1283 - Carlyquinn Winter Storm (Mrs H & Mr L & Ms L M Cokell & Nicklin & Ainsley) A lovely youngster so promising, she looked like she enjoys her food possibly a little too much. But she is so well put together showing so much promise for the future. Moved very collected for on so young.

2ND 1328 - Cobhay Heavenly Hydrangea (Mrs J, Mrs D & Miss P Williams & Toublic) preferred winner today in front assembly, however she presented a pleasing picture. Moved well.

 3RD 1291 - Cobhay Rosa Meg (Mrs E A Glass)

329. Spaniel (English Springer) - Puppy Bitch

Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1ST 1294 - Plaiglen One Last Time (Ms F Glendinning) A well balanced puppy, showing loads of potential and one to watch for the future. Good head, clean neck and shoulders she had to have as fore chest was a real surprise to feel in such a youngster, however when she moved she used her front to full advantage giving good ground cover. Pleased to award her PBIB.

 330. Spaniel (English Springer) - Junior Bitch

Entries: 6 Absentees: 3

1ST 1282 - Elazlan Coronation Day (Miss E Chandler) At just 12 months of age WOW what a fabulous youngster to judge. She oozes quality in all departments. I loved her and did consider her for top honours today. I shall follow her career with interest.

2ND 1315 - Calvdale Half A Story Bethersden (Mr G & Mrs S Tolladay) I suspect this bitch is at that typical growing and developing stage in her life. At the moment she is a stage of 2 halves, her front is classic and full of quality her head and expression is so very pretty. She has the attitude so hopefully she goes on to develop all over. So much promise.

3RD 1296 - Loxbourne Hustle and Bustle (Mrs M Hydon)

331. Spaniel (English Springer) - Yearling Bitch

Entries: 4 Absentees: 2

1ST 1290 - Chanangel When You Believe at Shersona (Mrs Sde & Miss Md Frusher & Slack) stood alone, but a pleasing bitch especially her head and expression. Moved well from rear and in profile.

332. Spaniel (English Springer) - Post Graduate Bitch

Entries: 7 Absentees: 4

These 2 exhibits obviously felt the need to race which certainly tested the handlers !! Both are top quality bitches but so very different in type. Good shape and size and very pleasing exhibits. Today I preferred 2nd in movement but wasn’t as settled as winner. I wish them both well and I’m sure they change places on a regular basis.

1ST 1311 - Pinereoch Amethyst of Rosannoch (Mrs E Rose)

 2ND 1313 - Petranella Tipping The Wink JW (Ms C P Savell)

3RD 1325 - Spuffing Prosecco (Mrs J Weyman)

333. Spaniel (English Springer) - Limit Bitch

Entries: 8 Absentees: 2 Goodness this class gave me a fair amount of challenges.

1ST 1299 - Khaleesi De Les Tres Llacunes with Alhambian (Imp Esp) (Mr M & Mrs K Keely) A very pleasing bitch in overall conformation. She is the youngest in the class, so well presented , I love her striking colour. She won the class on her outstanding movement so sound and true.

2ND 1289 - Dexbenella Fenella at Shersona (Mrs S Frusher) very different in type from winner but ever exhibit in the class was different. She is more of a substantial bitch, good head and eye. Presented in wonderful coat and condition.

 3RD 1302 - Freeway Fortune (Mr J & Mrs L Lillie)

334. Spaniel (English Springer) - Open Bitch

Entries: 2 Absentees: 0

1ST 1279 - Sh Ch Calvdale Flutter JW (Mr & Mrs M Calvert) A bitch out of the top drawer she oozes quality, so well balanced in body and head her expression is clearly enhanced by the fluting over the stop. Her eyes talk to you. I loved her and I have to say nothing exaggerated about her. Delighted to award her the BCC and BOB.

2ND 1284 - Sh Ch Trimere Time Flys (Miss S J Corbett) what a wonderful headache to have as a judge, two bitches in top form displaying all of the breed specific attributes one expects. She is a little more substantially built than winner which is not a criticism is just an observation. I loved her and delighted to award her the RCC and it was interesting to hear later that these two swop places regularly. Congratulations to the owners and breeders alike.
